HI! Happy reading. Filler chapter so a lil short sorry :) Hpapy reading and remember to vt and comment x
Lottie's POV.
So my evening plan was to go to tea, then go to the gym, then meet Sutton and Rowan.
But by the end of the day, I had so much work I needed to do that I felt bad meeting Rowan and Sutton, especially when my priority was to get my grades up.
So mum had picked me up from the gym and we were going to Nova's gallery to pick up something or another, I wasn't listening admittedly. I stopped listening when she started to gently suggest I stay at home instead of go out tonight.
I didn't disagree with her, see above statements where I did in fact agree, but her telling me to stay home was annoying.
I was going to anyway.
We park out the back of Nova's and my mum goes to leave me in the car, and I frown and sit up, getting ready to get out.
"Oh you're coming in?"
"Is that an issue?" I ask.
She smiles at me, her eyebrows raised. "What's up your ass?"
"Mum." I complain, pulling a face.
"I only asked because you never wanna come in when I'm just popping in somewhere."
"Yeah but you'll get talking to Nova and we're gonna be at least half an hour."
"No I wont." She argues but I know we will, she knows we will.
I get out the car and walk with her.
"How was your evening?" I ask her. "Did you and Dad have a good time."
"Yeah we had a great time." My mum says gently. "Your dad's struggling a little though at the moment, so just beware of that."
I turn my head. "Struggling with what?" My voice is of obvious concern and she looks at me and shakes her head quickly.
"No, it's nothing to worry about. Just don't add stress on if you can help it."
"But what's up with him?" I ask.
"He's ok." My mum laughs. "Lottie, I didn't mean to worry you. I am just saying your father and I got a chance to really talk and spend time with each other this weekend and so I know now that he's needing a little extra love."
"So you're giving him extra love?" I ask.
"Yeah, and so are you."
"Okay." I say, worrying a little.
"It's ok." She promises. "Your dad just feels a lot."
I look at her as we walk up the ally between the buildings to reach Nova's.
"What do you mean?"
Mum shrugs. "It's fine Lottie, don't worry."
"Please just explain, I am not a child mum, I want to know how people are doing and if they're ok."
She sighs, giving in. "When one of you would be struggling when you were younger, when the boys or even you would have a hard day, your dad would feel it so much more than I would."
My eyebrows raise and she looks at me, then smiles. "When your brother, August, would get sick, low, your dad would feel it all. He would feel for you and your brothers so deeply that when he could stop supporting, when he feels it is all ok again, he collapses a bit in exhaustion. He needs a little extra love to recover, you know?"
