He stayed with me for a while talking about the game like we were friends, just normal friends. That is until the door to the infirmary burst open and the twins came charging in followed by Blaise and the Golden trio.
The twins eyes bounced between Theo and myself. Trying to determine whether they should be angry and protective, thankful he got me here, or sarcastic.
Overwhelmed by the amount of people that could potential see he wasn't just an a**. Theo got up and left, winking at me before disappearing behind the door.
After an alarming amount of hugs and admiration, Madame Pomfrey came over and told me that my bones were almost completely healed and that I should keep the wrap placed on my hand for the next couple of days so the cuts could heal properly.
"So she's good to go?!" The twins asked harmoniously.
"Yes, but she should re-"
They didn't even let her finish, before I was being dragged out of the hospital wing.
The rest of the day went by fairly quickly. We were supposed to be partying in the common room to celebrate the first win of the season, but I needed a minute before returning to the aggressive pats on the back and cheering.
I escaped and walked straight to the astronomy tower. One of my favorite places to have a moment alone. I sat down and looked out over the school grounds.
I hadn't even noticed him leaning against the wall.
"Needed a break too huh?"
I spun around to see Theo, joint in hand, smirking at me. "Yes, the constant celebration is exhausting."
He let out a chuckle and sat down beside me. He finished his joint before laying back against the cold stone floor with his hands behind his head.
I laid back too. We talked aimlessly for hours about people and how classes were too easy. We talked about quidditch and cracked jokes till neither one of us could breathe. It was simple. Easy.
That was until he asked me about my family.
"So you really don't know anything about your parents?"
I looked at him in disbelief. This was going so well. For once I didn't want to throw him over the edge of the astronomy tower. Why ruin it?
"No I don't."
"And you never tried to-"
"No I haven't. They're dead and knowing who they were isn't going to change that. It's just going to make me miss them more."
He looked at me with what could be mistaken as compassion. I didn't want to tell him how I planned to find out one day when I was ready so that I could avenge them.
We continued to talk for a few more minutes before deciding to join the party.
The party was fun, nothing super special. The only noteworthy things were that Blaise did a keg stand, Draco admitted his feelings for Astoria, and Tom was nowhere to be found.
Even Theo looked around for him, curious at his disappearance.
A couple weeks passed, everyday I went to class and then trained with Cedric. We had found out he had been chosen, along with Harry who occasionally joined our sessions. When we were done I would meet up with Theo in the Astronomy Tower.
I was grateful to feel normal. Like I had a home in my own house with Theo, but the universe didn't like to let me be comfortable.
It was the day before everyone was leaving for Christmas break. I had agreed to Christmas at the burrow, and couldn't have been more excited.
I went up to the Astronomy Tower to meet Theo. I had bought him a new ring for Christmas as a sign of good faith.
But when I got there, it wasn't Theo that was waiting for me. It was Tom.
"Why hello darling, I've been looking for you."
He'd been gone for weeks. Why? Why'd he come back? Why was he looking for me?
"Where have you been Tom?"
"That's not the question you should be asking me"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
All of a sudden I heard the doors to the tower open. Theo ran in, picked me up, and spun me around. "Happy Christmas love"
I laughed at how excited he was. I don't think he's ever had a proper Christmas and I was happy to give him a taste of one.
I nodded in the direction of his brother and he froze.
"Hello Brother." Tom said.

THEO RIDDLE-
What was he doing here?
I hadn't seen him since the day we made it a competition to see who could get her to fall for them first.
A lot of things had changed since that day.
The whole goal was to bring her to the dark side, but instead she's brought light into my life. She's the reason I get excited to wake up in the morning.
I didn't want her to become like us. I wanted to be like her. I'm not my father and she's the one who helped me realize that.
She saved me from myself.

TOM RIDDLE-
This was to be expected. I always knew Theo was weak when it came to pretty girls. But I have to admit, before I left I had begun to see myself get taken under her spell.
But after that night. After witnessing the power she possessed, nothing could be left to chance.

I looked back and forth between them.
"I bet you both are wondering why I am back. Or maybe why I left in the first place? See my brother and I set ourselves on a mission. A mission to-"
"Tom no. I'm not doing it anymore. Come on y/n let's just go somewhere else." Theo said as he looked at me with worry.
"I figured you would begin to think with your heart instead of your head. That's what makes you weak. That night we started a war and I'm here to finish it."
"Seriously y/n let's go." Theo grabbed my hand and began to walk off. I didn't know what the hell was going on, but I didn't want to stay and find out.
We were almost out the door when he said it. The one thing I'd never expected.
"I know who your parents are. And one of them is alive."
