TOM RIDDLE-

I turned waiting for the curse to hit me, but it didn't.

No.

No.

I turned and Theo stood there facing me in between the death eater and me.

His eyes met mine, "I've got you brother."

He paused, "Take care of her for me."

And he crumpled to the ground.

I killed the death eater and ran to his side shaking him.

"NO! COME BACK! IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ME!"

The screams flowed out of my mouth before I could stop them as I sobbed clutching onto him.

The only thing worse than the feeling of looking down at his lifeless body was looking up the stairs at her.

Her screams and sobs rang in my ears like a nightmare.

Someone wake me up.

It can't end like this.

Suddenly she apparated next to me on her knees clutching him.

Her cries broke me even more,

"THEO! PLEASE COME BACK TO ME!"

She leaned her head on his chest, her fingers laced around the collar of his bloody shirt.

She looked as though the weight of the brown world on her shoulders had finally crushed her.

And for once, I wondered if she would get back up.

I heard a voice bellow from the top of the stairs, "Tom!"

I looked up and Ginny stood there staring out past me.

A second wave of death eaters came marching across the bridge.

We have to go.

I reached down and grabbed her waist trying to pull her away, but she yanked my hands off and climbed up on his chest.

"No! Let me stay! Please just let me go with him-" she cried.

Take care of her.

"I can't do that-" I reached out grabbing her by the waist again.

She fought and fought to die with him.

"PLEASE!! TOM PLEASE JUST LET ME GO!!! I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE!!!"

But I didn't let her break free.

She fought and squirmed in my grip, fighting to die with him.

I dragged her up the stairs as she eventually gave up on fighting me as I carried her through the double doors.

Ginny shut the doors behind us and multiple people began casting protective spells on it.

She went limp in my arms. I slumped against the wall and held her close to my chest as she cried with so much intensity that her body shook.

I couldn't help but cry too.

He was my family.

I was happy to give my life to protect him.

And it broke her.

The one thing I wanted to make sure never happened.

And it happened anyways.

She broke.

And it was my fault.

He died to save me.
