TW: parent problems
Would you be proud of how I've turned out?
Not the way you think I turned out
But how I actually turned out?
This self conscious, over apologizing, fearful person?
Would you be proud that this is who you raised?
That I am the person you raised
Would you be proud of the lessons I've learned from you?
The lessons you taught me?
That violence is how you solve things
That adults aren't to be trusted
That sometimes parents are the people you should fearYou have told me over,
And over,
And over again,
That you have tried so hard
Not to raise us like he raised you
You said you wanted to be our safe person
Someone we could talk to about anything
You have told us so often that the reason you raised us like you did
Is because of how you were raisedYou said you wanted to be different
You implied that you wanted to be the one to break the cycle
Well guess what,
You didn't
And you can't change that
So now I have to be the one to break this horrific cycle
You gave me no choiceSo thanks dad,
For fucking me up so much(18/6/21)
