A Heart Break In Time

I Had A Vision. I Didn't Wanna Believe It. Thought I Was Dreaming.

I got dressed and brought the two coffee cups to the kitchen before finally going to the conference room. I walked in and the first person I saw was Shuri. "Ah, Princess. What an honor." I said, with my funniest attempt of sounding fancy and I gave a mocking curtsy.

"You annoy me, why did I come here?" Shuri pushed me, trying to knock me over while rolling her eyes.

"Because you love me." I smiled at her as I stood back up, holding my arms out.

She walked right into them. "Well, that is true at least."

When we let go, I saw T'Challa. "Your highness." I bowed.

"Enough of that, come here, little puddle." He pulled me towards him, wrapping me in his arms.

"Hi, T'Challa." I smiled against his chest.

When he pulled away, I could see Sam looking confused. "Little puddle?"

I giggled nervously. "Uh, when Bucky was in the cryo freeze. I may have talked to him a lot so... I was the little puddle, that followed around the big ice cube." I gestured to Bucky, sitting next to Sam. Bucky's face was lit up, he definitely liked that story.

"She under tells it, she was with him everyday! All day! We practically had to drag her away from him!" Shuri explained.

"Okay, anyway! Everyone is here, so can we begin?" I looked around.

"Yes, I'm sorry, you have our attention." T'Challa smiled and stepped back.

I clapped. "Okay, If we're doing this, we're doing this my way." I looked at the three trainees. "This will be your first mission, and it's a big one. I don't like it, at all. But I know you three won't stay back, so we're going to use you, but the main priority will be to keep you safe. Got it?" I looked around at my team. "Shuri will stay back at the ship in case someone is injured. We don't know what Maria's condition is. Bruce, you'll stay here with Steve. Keep him calm. And use force if you need to. He's been mostly non violent but... we can't risk it."

Bruce nodded. "Got it."

"Rhodey and T'Challa, you'll stay with Shuri as protection. Rhodey, stay up and keep your eyes around. No one should get anywhere close to our jet. T'Challa, stop them if they do." They both nodded. "Sam and Angel. You'll stay above all the action. One on either side, Angel I need you listening. You're gonna find her and tell us where to go from the inside. Sam, you're going to be watching her six, keep her protected."

"I can do that." Sam nodded and crossed his arms.

"Buck, Wanda. You are with me. We go in, we get her, we get out."

Wanda shook her head. "I shouldn't be there. She's going to see me as one of them. She won't trust me."

I nodded, processing her words and trying to think of a new plan. "Okay. All right. Buck, with me. Wanda, you'll be on perimeter with Eva. She'll be doing laps, the eyes. You stay connected to her. If anything happens, take care of it. Make sure Eva stays out of it." Wanda nodded. "Kai, you stay with them. Once we're all out. You burn the building down. I want it to be a complete crisp. Can you do that?"

"I can do that."

"Great." I clapped. "One last thing. The three of you, none of you step foot into that building. Under any circumstances. You do not engage with the enemy. You do not fight unless there is no other option. Your first response needs to be run. You are barely trained, and you are not avengers. Your safety is your own number one priority. That means you too, Angel. We will do everything in your power to help your sister. But we can't risk losing you, or worse. Them taking you too. Do you three understand?"

Angel and Kai both silently nodded while Eva saluted me. "Yes ma'am!"

I rolled my eyes but smirked at her eagerness. Eva reminded me the most of myself. "Great. We leave tomorrow before sunrise. Get some rest today."

"Talia," Bruce walked up to me. "We have something to show you."

"We?"

Shuri walked up next to him. "Yes. We." Her face spread into a smile before she walked away. Bruce gestured for me to follow her so I did. She led me to the lab and I instantly knew what was about to happen.

"Guys..." They led me directly to the suit Tony started for me. "You didn't."

"We did." Shuri stated.

I ran my hands along the metal, tears forming in my eyes. "You shouldn't have. It's too much."

"Tony would have haunted us forever if we sent you into a mission against Hydra without it, Talia." Bruce firmly argued.

"You're right." I let out a small laugh as I looked the suit over. "Thank you. Seriously. It's like I'll always have a piece of him now."

"Yes, yes. Sentimental. Put it on!" Shuri pushed me towards it.
