I sighed. "Okay. Guess we're doing this now... Peter, stay here." I stood up and pointed at him.

"What? No way! I'm in this, too." Peter argued, standing up with the rest of the group.

"Is this a fight?" Shuri asked, looking around at our reactions.

"I don't know, honestly." I admitted. I don't know Fury is here, or what he expects out of this. "FRIDAY. Who's he with?"

We all got silent as we waited for her answer. "It looks to be only him and Maria Hill."

"So he's not here for a fight." Steve stated and I agreed. There's no way. Unless it was a trap. I turned to Sam and before I could speak he was nodding and answering.

"Eyes in the sky. I got it. Rhodes, you with me?" Sam turned to him.

Rhodey nodded and they both walked out, likely to get the suit on.

I turned to Angel. "I want the four of you to stay inside. He doesn't need to see you."

"No." Eva argued. "We're on for side, fully. He should know that. We'll stay back if that's what you want. But we're in this."

I couldn't hide my small smile of pride. "Okay. Then stay back, by Maria. Are you okay with coming out, Maria? You're not involved in this. You can stay inside."

Maria looked to Angel and then answered. "No, I'm staying with my family."

"Anyone else want to refuse my offer to stay inside? Peggy?" I rolled my eyes but I felt so much pride. Everyone was stepping up and standing together and that would only look better for us, standing fully united.

"I'm one of the problems of why he is here, going after you all." Peggy answered. "I'll stay here."

"What Fury is doing is for his own reasons. It's control." Steve argued and then softened as he looked to Peggy. "You can stay where ever you want to, but this isn't about you. You can trust that."

Peggy nodded. "Thank you."

"I'll stay with her. I'm retired after all." Clint joked with a grin.

Rhodey and Sam walked back in, suited up and ready to go.

"Okay, team. Let's do this." I sighed and walked towards the exit, everyone following me. We walked paired up. I walked out first, then Sam and Steve exited the building after me, followed by Peter and Bucky. Rhodey and Bruce were next, followed by T'Challa and Shuri. Last were Eva and Kai, followed by Maria and Angel.

As soon as we all were outside, we stood and watched as Fury and Hill walked out of their vehicle. They walked towards us and Rhodey and Sam flew above. I looked up and saw Sam give me a thumbs up signaling they were alone.

When Fury got close enough I stopped him. "That's close enough to talk, I think. That is why you're here, right? If not, you're a little underprepared for a fight. Unless you've stocked up on some invisible spies."

Fury chuckled. "It wouldn't matter, you'd just turn them against me." He gestured towards the group in the back.

"What can we do for you today, Fury?" I asked before looking up at Sam and waving him and Rhodey back down to the ground.

"Like you said, I'm just here to talk." He put his hands up defensively and Sam landed beside me.

I stared into Fury's eyes. "Well? I'm waiting?"

Fury looked like he was about to have another smart comment but stopped himself. "You know I'm not wrong."

"That doesn't make you right." I rebutted.

"The Avengers are out of control. You need someone to answer to-" He started to explain but I stopped him.

I held my hand up. "I'm sorry, I feel like we had this argument once before... during the accords. That's right. And then you still needed our asses to save the world. Again."

Fury laughed a dry, humorless laugh. "That's right. After you lost. And what did it cost you, again?"

I internally winced but didn't show it. I knew what he was referring to: Tony, Vision, Natasha... I wouldn't let him show it hurt me. "Whatever it took. Can you say you did the same? Or did you just pull out a pager and acted like you're a miracle worker?" I tilted my head. "Let's be real, Fury. You were the director of SHIELD, and then it ended up actually being Hydra. There's a lot of people right fucking here that suffered because you didn't do shit about it. So I'm going to just sum this conversation up right now. You. Will. Never. Control. Us."
