"Kai," I pulled myself away from his lips and he moved down to kiss my neck. "Kai, we can't."

He stopped, moving his head to look at me. "I'm sorry..." he started to pull away from me but my hands around his neck stopped him.

"I just... I'm training you. This isn't right."

"I'm not a child, Talia. I'm an adult, I know what I want." He leaned down to kiss my lips again, I could feel the kiss throughout my whole body. "I want you." He said against my lips. He moved one hand behind my head and the other to my hip.

I kissed him back, again, cursing myself for my lack of will power. But he was right. We were adults. And we weren't going on missions, there was no conflict of interest. Would it be so bad? I let myself relax, fully giving in to what was happening, Kai lifted my shirt off my head and started to kiss down my neck and to my breasts, I laid back against the bed.

"Pardon the interruption." FRIDAY spoke, startling both of us. "Everyone is being requested in the living room."

"By who?" I snapped.

"Steve Rodgers."

I groaned. "God fucking dammit Steve..." I grabbed my shirt from Kai and he looked confused.

"We don't have to go." Kai grabbed my arm and pulled me for another kiss.

"As tempting as that is, if we don't go, he'll come here. And I don't particularly feel like having that conversation." I threw my shirt on and kissed him again. "Come on." I pulled his arm with me as we walked out to the living room. I ran my fingers through my hair, not knowing how messed it up it was.

Flashback

I looked around the facility as Steve talked to Bucky. "You sure about this?"

"I can't trust my own mind. So, until they figure out how to get this stuff out of my head I think going back under is the best thing... for everybody."

Steve stepped away to the window where T'Challa was while Bucky started to walk into the cryo. I walked forward and grabbed his hand. "I'm sure we can figure something else out, Buck. You don't have to do this. We don't even know how long this will take, you could be frozen for a day."

Bucky gave me a half smile. "And that entire half day you would all be at risk. I'll be okay, Talia. This is what I'm used to."

I frowned as I let his hand go, letting him walk completely into the cryo. I walked to Steve and T'Challa.

"You know, If they find out he's here... they'll come for him." Steve looked at us both.

T'Challa gave Steve a confident smile. "Let them try."

We walked in the room and everyone was already waiting. Bucky was sitting on the chair, I smiled at him but his eyes went from me to Kai behind me, and then to the ground. "All right, what's going on Steve?"

"We need to discuss today, as a team. One team won in a landslide. We should figure out why." He stood with his arms crossed.

This couldn't have waited? I thought, annoyed. I sighed and Angel's head turned to look at me and Kai, her eyes widened as she smiled.

"Okay, so you want everyone to give feedback? 'Cause personally, I just think we had the best team." I shrugged, smiling at Bruce before bumping against Kai.

Eva scoffed. "I had the two super soldiers! That makes no sense."

"You focused on strength, Eva. And Angel, you focused on strategy. Both of which makes sense for you. Kai picked diversely. And well, Rhodey is afraid of Bruce so. That helped." I giggled.

"I am not!" Rhodey argued.

Steve cleared his throat. "What did Kai do right, do you think Talia?"

"He thought about his opponents. He told us that Eva didn't have much combat skill, she relies on strength and speed. That we had to be careful to not think about what we were doing with Angel. And then he asked us, since he didn't know the rest of you. Kai knew that leading also requires listening to his team."

Sam spoke up. "I think that's enough to decide what we all need to work on."

I nodded. "Eva needs combat training, Steve and Buck, you two would be best suited for that. If you don't mind?" They both nodded. "Angel, you could probably use the same thing, if you rely on your powers too much it'll leave you short handed. But seeing as flight is involved, Sam should train you. I'm sure you both are fine with that." I laughed. "Kai, you need more confidence in your powers. You handle them well, you have control. But you're afraid of them. But I don't think anyone here is really going to help too much with that. However, I know someone who can." I smiled. "I'll make a call." I turned back to Steve. "Anything else?"

"Yeah." Sam laughed. "Your shirt is on inside out."

I looked down and he was right. I didn't even bother looking when I took it from Kai. When I looked back up, Bucky was staring at me with hurt in his eyes. I couldn't make eye contact as I lied through my teeth. "Yeah, I was about to shower when I got called here. If you don't mind, I'll get back to that." I turned to Kai. "I'll make that call and get back to you." I walked away, not saying anything else to anyone.

My thoughts were all over the place. I needed to call Wanda, but I didn't want to rush her home. She did say soon, but that could mean anything. She might just be saying that so I don't come after her again.

And god, Kai... that kiss was amazing. Being with was amazing, but he had so much hurt and self hate just like... Just like Bucky. I'm in a serious mess. What the hell am I gonna do?

As I showered, I tried to figure out what to do. I could tell both of them I was done. It was too much. How could I possibly hurt either of them, let alone both?

Part of me just wanted to leave. Leave this place, leave the avengers, leave all this hurt and pain and loss that's followed ever since I got here. Why should I stay and have to deal with Steve everyday? Why should I live in this place, expecting to see Tony or Nat or Vision around every corner only to be reminded of the heartbreak everyday? But that's why, Tony. Natasha. Vision. I owed it to them, to save as many people as I could. Do as much good as I could. How could I just leave after everything they've done for us?

I sighed as I shut off the shower. I couldn't leave. But god, if I could. I wrapped myself in a towel and went back to my room. I threw on a big t shirt and underwear after I dried off and sat down on my bed. I grabbed my phone and hovered over Wanda. I wanted her back, of course I did. She was a little piece of home that was missing. One I could actually have back. But would she come? I didn't want to force her to be back. But we needed her. Kai needed her. I took a deep breathe and called.
