TITLE — Your cold arranged husband falls in love with you after his wife's death  but you fall out of love with him

Your father patted your shoulder sympathetically. He didn't want to throw his very own daughter into a vicious circle of unhappy married life but he had no other options. He has fallen into a debt trapt. He was only a small farmer who took several loans from the landlord and now, he's trapped so terrifically that he isn't having enough to pay for food on the table, let alone pay the debt.

Poverty makes a man do all sorts of things he would've never imagined he ever would. The landlord's lady, Jeon Aera showed up at your small tumbled down hut, with a plea.

"If you agree to marry my husband after our divorce, I shall free your father from his debt trap and make sure that your father lives in peace for the rest of his life with enough food and a proper roof over his head."

At first, you rolled your eyes. You were not ready to lose your life for some money. That was unethical. However, Mrs. Jeon might've seen your defiance, so she added to your offer.

"Not only that, I'll make sure that your younger sister is married off in a wealthy family where she'll live like a princess. Also, her dowry would be richly paid by us. Think y/n think. Your sister will be settled well, so would be you and your father. All your problem will perish.", with that, the lady left.

Dowry. As evil as it may sound, you still lived in an era where it was common, prevalent and nobody dared to oppose it. Dowry was such a headache to every father who has a daughter.

Many families even kill their daughter before their birth just because they think that daughters are liabilities. You honestly sometimes wondered what was in your father's head that he allowed you and your sister to take birth in this cruel world despite knowing the burden he'd face.

He was a man of liberal thoughts. Not completely defiant of the society, but certainly, he always said, "No matter whether you're a daughter or a son, after all, you're my own blood. I love your mother and I love the love we had. I knew it'll be burdensome, but you're precious to me, child."

Your father, unlike many others, had a thinking different from others and had loved you a lot, compared to the pathetic treatment many girls received from their families just because they're girls.

Now, that you were struck with poverty, you had a hard time dealing with it. You didn't want to give in, but the offer was too much irresistible. You knew that your sacrifice will ensure the goodwill of your family, the family you love a lot. Isn't that what the feeling in a family is about? You don't go and sacrifice for strangers. You do it for the people you love.

And henceforth, in a grand lavish wedding, the only heir of Jeon's estate was married off to his second wife, ever so unwillingly, after his divorce with Aera.

You didn't even see his face. Nor did you know his name. All you knew was that he's the son of the Jeon's. During the wedding rituals, your face was covered with a veil and inside the veil, was your tear-stricken face, sobless tears cascading down your eyes as you tied yourself to the chains of an unhappy married life.

Looking outside the window of your lavish room in Jeon's estate, your eyes talked with the moon, your only friend. Every other friend left, but the small little stars and the moon in the night sky always gave you companionship in your loneliness.

You heard the door opening and some heavy footsteps inside the room. Still, you didn't turn around. Your eyes were gazing into oblivion as you were still standing dolled up dressed in your wedding attire. Not even your heels left your legs, neither did the heavy gold and diamond jewellery.
