This time the man broke out into a full grin when he laughed. He pulled me into a hug as he called out for everyone to relax and for drinks to be served. Zeke relaxed when he realized that I was no longer in danger. The man led me back to the group of older members he had been sitting with when we had entered. He sat me between his legs and ruffled my hair as everyone stared at me curiously.
"This is my baby sister, she was born the same year I had my choosing ceremony." He clarified for everyone. Everyone relaxed around me and I was basically ignored while Wayne enjoyed catching up with his friends.
"Little sister, you have quite the group of admirers." Wayne murmured to me pointing out Zeke, Four, Uriah and Tris who had all stayed by the entrance to the bar.
"No, those are just my friends." I said Wayne let out a hearty chuckle.
"No little one I do not think they are just your friends, if they were Eric would not look at you the same way they look at you." I turned to look at Wayne for further explanation.
"Look at me, how?" I asked.
"With adoration, a protective instinct, like they would stop the world for you. Little one, those boys are all head over heels for you."
"Well three of them already have other girls in their lives, and Eric tried to kill my friends on more than one occasion. He hates me so you must be wrong." I shook my head at him. He laughed again but one of his friends had overheard and agreed with him about the way the boys looked at me.
"Well I am not the only choice for any of them therefore none of them can have me." I said standing up and facing my brother and his friends. " I deserve to be a first choice not in some unknown competition with someone else."
"Right you are, little one." Wayne smirked at me. I shot him a smile as I walked off to join my friends. He watched as Four threw an arm around my shoulder and guided us out of the bar. He didn't miss the glare Eric shot at our group as we walked away and I beamed up at my tall friends. The group led me back to the Pit, us girls parted ways with the boys as we decided to get some dinner before heading back to the dormitories. Christina and Tris had left before me and while I sat alone Peter sat down across from me. I tensed, I had avoided him as best I could since our fight.
"I don't want to be enemies." I met his dark green eyes and I knew he could see the scepticism present in mine. "Look I know I haven't been the nicest to you or the other Stiff but you're good, better than any of us would have suspected from a Stiff and it's obvious that you are going to protect her at all costs. So how about we make a deal. I lay off her and you and I can become friends?" He placed his hand palm up on the table between us.
"Peter, you left Candor for a reason and I do not trust you as far as I can throw you. You have ulterior motives, we both know that. You want my friendship? Prove to me that I can trust you." I said as I looked from his outstretched hand back to his face. "Your handsome innocent face may have worked on others but I am not so easily fooled." I pushed back from the bench and stood as his friends Drew and Molly approached us.
"You think I'm handsome?" Peter chuckled to himself as I walked away. I made my way through the dark corridors when a hand reached out to grab me. I twisted around to fight whoever grabbed me but before I got a chance I was pinned against the wall by a familiar slim tall body. Four pressed me against the wall and urged me to be quiet as I heard voices approaching. His hands moved from my arms, guiding one of mine to his hair as he reached for my waist.
"Go with it before we both get in trouble." He breathed in my ear and before I had time to ask what it was his other hand was on the back of my neck and his lips were on mine.
I forgot how to breathe for a minute when I felt his lips meet mine. I had often thought about what it would be like to kiss him back when we were kids in Abnegation but that was something the faction frowned upon thus I had never once thought to bring it up. His lips were warm and soft against my own and he had to bend over to fully kiss me without me standing on my tip toes. He moved us so that his body was fully blocking me from the view of whoever was approaching, even in the shadows.
"We should know if any of the new initiates are Divergents once stage two starts." I heard who sounded like Max or Eric said.
"Good, we need to start to eliminate them as soon as possible before they can multiply." I heard a female voice.
I tried to pay attention but Four had started to tangle his hand in my hair and kiss me harder. I lost myself in the kiss, the voices stopped to talk right in front of where we were hidden and Four was not letting me go any time soon. My stomach was alight with butterflies and my cheeks flush. Four nipped my lower lip and I did the same in return earning a low groan from him. He pulled away from me and rested his forehead against mine with his eyes closed while we both took a moment to breathe.
The conversation about Divergents between the man and woman had moved past us and for that I was thankful. I had no idea how much longer I could have gone on kissing Four, he however didn't think it was safe yet and captured my lips with his again. I let out a little moan this time as he pulled my hair lightly and held on to my waist almost as if he knew I would run the second he let go of me. This kiss was almost desperate as if he was trying to tell me something or hold on to me. Finally he pulled away again and untangled his hand from my hair. My face was on fire and I moved my hands off his chest and arm to cover my face.
