When an Abnegation girl finds herself in Dauntless along side Tris. She has a past with Four and Eric has taken an interest in her but she is divergent. Her brother is still learning how to be a sibling while Peter has decided that he likes her. Wil...
We were both laughing as Four approached us, both of us still oblivious to his presence. Until I felt arms wrap around my waist and pick me up. I let out a shriek as I watched Peter's face fall back into his cold facade.
"What are you two doing in the middle of the night?" Four's voice was stern, as if he had the right to be angry with us.
"Put me down. I slept so much I wasn't tired anymore, I needed to breathe so I went for a walk to find a place to watch the stars like we used to." I huffed at him, crossing my arms like a spoiled child as he refused to put me back on the ground. Four started walking back towards the house that I had left Tris in.
"So You decided to play tag with Peter?" I could hear the dissatisfaction in his voice.
"There was no harm in it. It's the one moment in weeks that I've really been able to breathe. It was just a bit of fun." I responded this time dropping the attitude. Four placed me on the step in front of the house I was staying in.
"Stay away from trouble you already have enough. I'll come get you both for the meeting in the morning. Go back to bed." Four ordered me with a light push towards the door.
"Yes dad." I mocked as I turned around and made my way inside. I missed the blush that made its way across Four's face. When I entered the bedroom again Tris was sound asleep, I slipped off my shoes and curled up facing the wall. A few minutes later I felt a dip in my bed and turned slightly to look over my shoulder. Tris had joined me as she often had in Dauntless when the nights got rough. I turned to face her, held her hand and fell asleep facing her tear stained one.
I woke to light hitting my eyes, something I wasn't used to. Tris grumbled as I began to shift. I nudged her awake gently and motioned to the bathroom, she followed behind me as I set a shower for both of us, this time I took note of the different personal shower items that now lingered in the area. I took longer this time as I washed my hair, Tris no longer had to spend as much time on it. I heard her leave as I continued to wash. Once I was done I wrapped a towel around my body and around my hair. I heard voices as I approached the mirror next to the door.
"How are you holding up?" I heard Four ask. He was far enough away that I knew he was talking to Tris. I didn't hear her reply, her voice was too soft. I brushed out my wet hair and began braiding it, waiting to hear Four leave before I walked back into the room where my clothes were. Amity had supplied us with clothes but I had insisted on keeping my black ones, they were comfortable and easy to move in if I had to fight. The skirts and dresses of Amity while pretty but harder to fight in. Once I was done braiding my hair into two small braids on either side of my head, leaving my bangs to frame my face, I pulled the rest of my hair into a high ponytail. I hadn't heard Four leave and decided to risk it anyway so that I wasn't late to the meeting. I made my way back into the room to find Four comforting Tris who was dressed and ready to go.
"Hey can you get out so I can get dressed?" I said a little more loudly than was necessary. The two jumped apart and Four coughed awkwardly as he turned and left the room. Tris just followed my movements with her eyes as I got dressed. I stood in the middle of the room staring at my clothing options when her hand came out of the corner of my eyes to pick up a mid length yellow sundress. It had brown buttons down the front that stopped six inches from the hem. Thick straps held it up and met a sweetheart neckline.

I slipped it on and realized that the dress was made for someone with smaller curves, the dress landed a little below my knees instead of by my calves and the neckline of the dress showed a little more cleavage than I would have liked. I did a spin for Tris who let out a giggle for the first time in days. I checked to make sure my necklace was still safely tucked into the dress and slipped on the silver rings and earrings that had made the trip with me, all surprisingly in tack after the fight in Abnegation. I was thankful I had forgotten to take them off in my rush to join the zoned out transfers. Tris gave me a look and I just picked up some eyeliner that I had found in the bathroom and added some to her eyes and then mine.
"Girls, we have to go." Four shouted through the house. Tris and I shared a look as I slipped on my black boots and we rushed to meet him outside. Caleb had joined Four outside and as we approached we could hear them having a hushed argument. Caleb looked angry and Four was just shaking his head. Tris was a little further behind me but I was able to catch the last few words Caleb whispered to Four.
"You're too old for her. You'll just lose them both." Before I could ask who Her was Caleb turned away from us and headed towards the meeting.
"You look nice." Four said doing a quick double take of my outfit. I nodded and followed after Caleb, allowing Tris and Four to walk together.
"Hey gorgeous." I heard Peter call as he approached me in a light jog. He was wearing jeans and an off red shirt. He too had kept his Dauntless boots. Peter linked arms with me as I smiled lightly up at him. I let him lead me to the meeting as he chattered away about how we should stay in Amity if I looked this nice in their clothes. I just shook my head at him as we finally entered the meeting. Once everyone had arrived at the meeting Johanna started talking, explaining the situation to everyone in Amity. I unknowingly checked out, dazed I am drawn back by Peter poking me in the side.
"If you are to stay Dauntless must give up their weapons and avoid conflict as best they can. You must follow our rules." I glance at Tris's face and recognize the look of dissatisfaction. Tris had a gun under her mattress that she believed only she knew was there. It was not wrong to be careful. We all agreed to these terms and soon the meeting was finished.
Peter led me away from Tris and the others I followed after him finding ourselves amongst a group of children playing tag. Peter and I played tag with the group of Amity and Abnegation children for a while. Movement caught my eye and I turned to find Tris walking out of the orchard. I followed her to the house we were staying in. I followed her into the house to hear her telling Four everything she had learned.
"Your father said that Jeanine attacked because Abnegation has some sort of secret. Johanna pushed him to be more specific but he refused." She said,
"I mean it makes sense though." I added in. Everyone turned to look at me, surprised by my appearance. "They spent months releasing those discrediting pamphlets. Plus when we went to see Caleb and Jeanine questioned us she asked us if we would do anything to help her even if it meant going against our families." I met Tris's eyes.
"He's lying. No one in Abnegation had any secret information or anything like that. Marcus just wants to feel important." Four spits out. I touched my necklace over my dress, feeling the shape of the ring and the stones knowing that Four was wrong. I dropped my hand before anyone could notice.
"Why don't we get some fresh air before it's time to eat?" I suggested and made my way out of the house. I made my way to the orchards first, walking between trees weaving in and out of the rows. Tris follows me as I do this, giggling at my childish antics once more. It was good to see her smile and laugh. I felt just a small weight come off my shoulders every time she smiled. The boys followed after as Four occasionally called for us to stay where he could see us.
