My instincts screamed at me to lunge at him. To hurt him for betraying us. My nails had drawn blood from how hard I had dug them into my palms trying to keep myself from attacking him. I turned to watch Tris's face dissolve into anger and hurt. Four's face was much the same. Disbelief was widespread among us. Even Peter looked taken aback. After Caleb had entered the room fully Jeanine had Tris put to sleep in order to study her brain while dreaming. Peter had to give me a shove as we passed Caleb to exit the room. Four was brought out behind us and he lunged for Caleb but was stopped by the guards. Peter rushed me back to his room and once I was inside I punched the wall.
"That son of a bitch." I huffed pacing the room. Peter just watched me from the door. I punched the wall a few more times, thinking about how Tris had told him everything in Amity. I couldn't blame her for trusting her brother. I had done the same thing but my brother had done nothing but protect me.
"You should clean up your hand, go take a shower you need to relax." Peter addressed me with a cation. I could read it on his face that he was worried I was going to snap at him. He had already been on the receiving end of my punches during initiation. He didn't need me to hit him now that I was stronger. I grabbed one of his shirts and a pair of his pants and stormed out of the room. My feet carried me to the nearest bathroom and I was under the hot water in a matter of seconds. My hair had spent so much time in braids recently that it felt amazing to let it out for a while. Peter had been right, what I needed was a shower. What Tris needed was a shower. That's when the light bulb went off in my head, get Tris to the showers and we can escape from here. Peter wouldn't be blamed for us going missing when he couldn't follow us in.
The only issue was the fact that there was nowhere for us to go now to hide. Four had given up the factionless to protect Tris, Dauntless wasn't safe from another attack. We couldn't trust Candor, Amity had already watched people get slaughtered. Caleb was close to the Abnegation members that were left who were they going to believe. I was still plotting as I finished my shower and made my way back to Peter's room.
"Peter, you have to help me save her." Peter turned to look at me, his eyes were wide lIke I suddenly had three heads. "Peter I can't watch someone else die, it's too much for me." I joined him on the bed, resting my head on his shoulder getting half of his t-shirt wet.
"I know but getting her out isn't that simple. You need a plan of attack." I nodded and Peter shrugged me off of his shoulder while taking off his wet shirt. He used it to dry my hair a little more. I let him continue to dry my hair, it was weird doing something so domestic with Peter amid such a hectic time in my life. Four had never done anything like this and neither had Wayne for that matter. Peter surprised me when he picked up a brush and began to brush through my hair.
"There has to be a plan in place, by now your brother knows you're missing and no one will stop him from coming to get you but why was it Four that showed up and not Wayne?" Peter brought up a good point. Wayne would never let me go without a fight.
"When it comes down to it, will you come with me this time?" I mumbled
"Yes." Peter finished brushing my hair and pushed me so I fell on my side onto the bed.
"You're over thinking, I have to get back to work. Get some sleep, I'll bring you something to eat later." Peter exited the room after putting his uniform back on. I curled up on the bed and cried until my body was too tired to do anything. I slept for what felt like forever but Peter was shaking me, waking me up the next day.
"We have to take Tris to the showers, you need to go into the room with her." He informed me. I got up and found a new set of clothes for me.
"Did you get me new clothes?"
"You couldn't keep wearing the same outfit people were starting to notice. I washed them."
"Thanks." Peter had paid attention to my style. A simple pair of tight black pants, a new set of black socks, and my boots had been cleaned off. He had gone as far as to make sure my underwear was clean for me to put back on. I was shocked with the amount of detail Peter had paid to everything. The top was a simple black crop top. I needed to figure out what he had done with my jacket because I couldn't walk around showing that much skin without drawing attention to myself.
"I hope the top is okay, there wasn't a lot to work with." Peter mentioned from across the room.
"It's perfect thanks but I need a jacket to wear over it. I can't afford the attention brought to me." I muttered out looking for a jacket among his clothes. He held up a black one that matched the one he was already wearing with a blue armband already attached. I smiled at him gratefully and slipped on the jacket. I did my best to fix it so that it didn't look like I had stolen it. We headed to collect Tris from the room she had been sleeping in under observation. By the time we got there she was wide awake, she followed us silently through the hallway. I knew Caleb's betrayal had to have hit her hard. Halfway through our trip down the hall we passed Four, the look on his face was all I needed to see to know he had a plan. Four dropped to the ground as he passed by Tris, he grabbed his guards gun and shot him.
