Before we can all pass through security the wall next to Uriah exploded. Shards of glass sprayed outward as Uriah's body joined them. Tris and I screamed for him. Our bodies jumped into fight or flight as everyone around us ducked for cover as we were sprinting towards him. People began to panic and were running away from the blast as we fought our way through it to get to Uriah. People were screaming all around us as guards called for someone to signal the alarms. Matthew grabbed Tris and I and tried to pull us away with the crowd but I fought off his grip on me and moved faster toward where I had last seen Uriah fall. Tris screamed for me to follow her to the weapons lab and when I caught a glimpse of Uriah laying still and untrampled I took off after her.

I followed Matthews' head through the crowd of bodies as he took the lead. I caught Tris who had gotten lost in the sea of faces and the terror that was in the crowd. I pulled her with me as we turned right down a hallway behind him.

"Matthew!" Tris shouted and he paused long enough to allow us to catch up to him. Triss grabbed the back of his skirt while he grabbed my hand. He checked over both of us scanning for any physical damage.

"Are you both okay?"

"Yea. Let's go." Tris shouted as she pulled her hand away from a cut that was bleeding above her eyebrow. He glanced at me as we started moving, I could feel the sting of small cuts on my legs and shoulders but I had been through worse. We sprinted down the hallway, I was pulling Matthew a little as I was more fit and faster than he could ever hope to be. We paused when we saw guards laying on the floor. Tris bent down and picked up a gun and held it out to Matthew first who shook his head.

" I've never shot one before."

"Oh for fuck's sake." I snapped and grabbed the gun from her. It was different from what we had trained with in Dauntless but it was a gun all the same. Matthew was panting for air, Tris was too but she and I were used to this chaos and it didn't affect us in the same way. We moved slowly and when we found another soldier lying dead Tris picked up her gun.

"It's not far," Matthew assured us. Tris and I both touched our fingers to our lips to silence him. Tris took up the front with me following behind. Tris crouched when she reached the corner we had to take to get to the weapons lab. I peaked around her as we both took in the scene. Before us sat a set of double walled glass doors that stood open. Behind them stood three people in all black, their guns were massive and their faces were covered in fabric so that all you could see were their eyes. David sat before them with a gun pressed to his head and bleeding from his mouth. With them was a person Tris and I both recognized instantly. It was Nita.

"Get us in, David." Nita screamed. Her voice was distorted by the mask.

"I don't believe you'll shoot me." David said in a calm manner. He eyed the gunman lazily. "I'm the only one who knows this information and you want the serum."

"There are other places to shoot." The gunman grumbled. David screamed as the gunman shot him in the foot. Tris turned to Matthew and whispered for him to get help. He moved quietly down the hall, throwing us one last look before disappearing around the corner.

"We need the passcode, an explosive would set off another security measure." Nita growled at the redhead who I recognized as Mary, that meant one of those men was Rafi. Tris and I watched as Nita prepped a syringe full of serum.

"I thought you said that didn't work?"

"I said he could resist it." Nita shot back.

"Nita I know this is just a fault in your genes, If you stop now I can help you." David pleaded. But Nita just smirked and plunged the needle into David's neck. When his eyes opened he let out a horrible scream. I flinched as I remembered Tris going through the same thing.

"I'll make it stop, David just tell me how to get into the room." Nita said as she grabbed his face. His eyes were focused on something over her shoulder.

"Don't do it." He shouted while lunging forward.

"I'll stop them if you help me."

"Her. The-the name-" he whimpered.

"Whose name?"

"Her." David said, pointing to Tris. Tris Reached around the corner and fired off two shots. The first bounced off the wall as the second hit the man in the arm. Mary raised her weapon to fire at Tris but Nita stopped her.

"Tris, you don't know what you're doing." Nita called out.

"Yea that's probably true." Tris said as she steadied her hand and fired again this time hitting Nita in the side above her hip. Nita sank to her knees as she clutched at the wound. David ran towards us and Tris used his momentum to twist him around and use his body as a shield.

"Fire and I'll shoot him." Tris called out.

"You wouldn't kill your own leader."

"He isn't my leader and frankly I don't care if he lives or dies. But I won't give you control of the death serum." I was already halfway down the hallway when Tris began to follow behind me. Mary called her bluff and shot David above the knee and he collapsed leaving her exposed. We dove to the ground as another shot whizzed past us both. Tris grabbed David and dragged him towards me as I watched her bleed from a gunshot wound to her left arm. We heard footsteps surrounding us and suddenly Matthew was there, people picked up David as Matthew offered Tris his hand. I followed behind them all the way to the hospital.
