They were all dumped in the hall for assembly.
Y/n flicked h/c hair from her eyes and glanced around the room.
There were a fair bit of students in the school so the area was crowded.
Y/n sat in her chair, between Lumine and Hu Tao's. The blonde girl was swinging her legs and Hu Tao sat there half-asleep."Dammit. It's so boring, there's no reason for an assembly," Hu Tao groaned.
On Hu Tao's other side, Ganyu leaned over, "it might be something important this time. Like, with what the events of the past weeks were."
Hu Tao's lips parted slightly and she looked sullen for a moment, before perking up at the sight of a tall dark-haired male.
She waved at him and he wandered over.
"Y/n! This is Zhongli, he is my employee... and the guy I told you about." She grinned proudly at the title the older boy was given.
"Hello, Y/n- I presume? It's very nice to meet you... I've heard rumours about your stunning beauty- and I can't say they are lying."
Y/n's s/c cheeks flushed red as she looked away.
Behind her Hu Tao murmured, "what a catch, huh?"
The principal was a middle-aged woman- she stepped out onto a platform at the front of the hall. Zhongli looked up, before hurrying back to his seat in the crowd.
The woman started with a short introduction and the normal 'important' announcements.
Then, she moved on to what everyone was eager to hear.
The deaths of their peers."It is a tragedy that two fellow students passed away these last weeks. But on school property, the staff cannot help but to be partially responsible for their murders, and the trauma experienced by witnesses. The causes of the deaths of Bennett and Fischl, two junior students- they have been found as being purposely killed, as a sick kind of 'presentation.' We do not know who has done it. I, and the rest of our staff advise that you take care and if you have any information... Please tell us or preferably, the authorities."
Everyone in the hall were intrigued and most of them eagerly leaned forward in their seat- but to no avail. They didn't get much more news.
Eventually they were all let out to their period one classes and the corridors were a flurry of activity.
Y/n walked alone to her humanities class and sat right in one of the middle seats- not right in front of the teacher, and not at the back, drawing the old man's attention. Strategic. The professor droned on until the door to the classroom slammed open and a battered-looking Xiao staggered into the classroom and slumped down in a chair at the back. The whole class stared at him for a moment, intrigued, before turning their attention reluctantly back to the lecture.
A girl that had her purple hair tied up into pigtails and cone-shaped buns, grinned, staring back at him and was met with her name being called, "Keqing!"
She jolted back towards the old man at the front of the classroom and was met with his disdainful frown. She gasped out, "sorry!" And then, put her head back down onto her smooth wooden desk- with embarrassment at being called out.
Everyone else in the class chuckled, except Ganyu- who was fast asleep at the back, Xiao who was looking around hazily, and Y/n who had no clue what was going on- too engaged with her notes.
The old man continued to drone about the medieval times as the class soon fell asleep, except for a select few.

At lunchtime, Aether tracked down Xiao, (who in fact looked pretty sorry.)
"Xiao! I need your help." Aether said to him.
The other boy was laying on his back on a metal bench, looking up at Aether. Aether, stared down at Xiao's face, he had bruises on his neck that disappeared below the collar of his white shirt and bandaids on his face.
He didn't look pleased."With what?"
"There's this girl-" Aether spoke hesitantly to his friend.
"I have no experience. I cannot assist you." He turned his head away.
"You're friends with her though! You could talk to her for me-"
"What!? How can that help you?.." Then, "who is it?... Ganyu?"
"No! Uhh- Y/n. I need you to help me confess to her." Aether squeezed his eye shut and looked away, blushing.
Xiao choked on his own spit and sat up, "you... like Y/n?"
(Sorry this was a bit cliché)
(Wait... very cliché)
