The entire cohort was crowded in by the hallway television that next morning.

Y/n was forced to push through the crowd to the front where she could view the 'exciting' news.
She finally shoved through, only to be blocked by the rock-hard shoulder of Arataki Itto. He was standing near the Kamisato siblings, who both looked very alarmed.

Y/n reached up to tap him on the back, "sorry... But I can't see."

Itto chuckled, "open your eyes, then."

Rolling them instead, she ducked under his arm and stared up at the screen as more and more of her peers' smiles faded.

On the news, the reporter interviewed a fisherman as an ambulance drove in behind them. They were loading someone into a body bag.
Y/n only had to see the wisps of coral hair to know.
She spun away and shoved back through the crowds as though to escape the information.
There were too many bodies... Too much heat...
Y/n couldn't bear the looks everybody was giving her.

She stumbled down the hallway, hand clamped over her mouth as her stomach churned painfully.
Finding her way into the bathroom, she ducked into a stall and bent over the toilet, retching. Her throat burned as her breakfast made a second appearance since that morning- in the form of brown liquid. It smelt, it stung. But, she continued to hurl her guts into the toilet bowl.

Y/n soon felt a gentle hand patting her back. She turned to look at Kamisato Ayaka, pitifully wiping a smear from her face with her blazer sleeve. "When did you get here?" She croaked and gagged, only to choke up another chunk of food.

Ayaka placed a comforting hand between her shoulder blades. "This has been a lot to handle... I'll take you to the nurse if you want?"

That was the problem. Y/n couldn't help but be reminded of her dead friends. Barbara had been the nurse's assistant and Y/n saw her frequently- it would be lonely in there now.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she coughed up her remaining vomit and turned to fully face the other girl. "No. It's alright."

Ayaka's brow furrowed in sympathy. "I know you've been through a lot- please don't bottle it all up. You may end up hurting yourself."

"I'm fine." Y/n stood up slowly and flushed the toilet, making her way over to the basins. "You don't need to worry about me. You should worry about Kokomi's good friends... And the student council."

Ayaka sighed, "just come with me."

She dragged Y/n by the arm down the hallway, passing the large group of her peers still clustered together talking about Sangonomiya Kokomi. Y/n suddenly felt sick to the stomach and tuned them out.

Ayaka petted her h/c hair. "Don't worry about anything."

Once arriving at the nurse's office, Ayaka pottered around retrieving tissues and medicine to quell Y/n's churning stomach.
She also handed the h/c-haired girl a vomit beg after hearing yet another gag.

Conversationally, Ayaka started, "Kokomi was a good friend and an amazing Student Councillor... I'm sure her death could have been an accident?"

"Um... You don't happen to know what the fisherman said, do you?"

Ayaka paled, "it's nothing. Don't worry Y/n, I'm sure it's absolutely nothing."

"You're a crap liar, Miss Kamisato." Y/n tied up her vomit bag, newly intrigued and saddened by the hollow look in Ayaka's eyes.

Ayaka sighed. "She's dead, Y/n... I..." She shut herself up and held out a cap of medicine to the e/c eyes girl.
Her throat bobbed, "she was murdered."
