Fontaine is out... and I realised I am dragging behind with this fanfiction. I still haven't decided whether to cut off the characters at the end of Inazuma or to introduce maybe twenty from Sumeru or Fontaine at once. But, I truly love some of these Fontaine characters.
Hehe, I'm back I guess.

Baal pressed her sweaty palm to the wall to prop herself up. Her trembling legs couldn't hold her weight as she collapsed onto the tiles. She slumped against a sterile white wall, breathing heavily.

A distorted voice lulled her from the daze, "Are you alright?"

Baal squinted at a young woman.

The woman brushed platinum-blonde curls from her face, "Miss Baal - are you alright?"

"What?"

"Ei... Can you stand up?"

Baal accepted the pale hand offered to her and pulled herself up from the floor. "..."
"Thank you...uh?"

"Call me Rosalyne." She smiled softly, her eye closing contently.

Baal nodded, "do you know where the psychiatric ward is? I haven't been to this medical centre before." She said this sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her neck.

"Ah... I'm friends with a doctor who works there - allow me to escort you." Rosalyne gently took Baal's elbow in her hand and lead her down a hallway, manoeuvring them around other patients and workers.

Rosalyne spoke up once again. "Which doctor are you seeing?"

"Um... Well... I don't know. But my psychologist recommended these particular doctors to me and scheduled an appointment. I trust that the doctor that was chosen is good." Baal shrugged.

"I see." Rosalyne lead Baal down a hallway and knocked on a glass door.

Through the blurred glass, Baal could make out the silhouettes of some people in white.
A man stood up from his seat and opened the door to them.

"Ah, Rosalyne." The man smiled, "and who might this be?"

"I am Baal - a patient here."

"It is a pleasure to meet you." He grinned and winked at her, red eyes twinkling with amusement. He was certainly too young to be a doctor... Maybe he was a temporary intern?

Baal narrowed her eyes, "where is my doctor?"

"Ah... He's on his coffee break for now. Why don't we head in and wait for him?"

Baal frowned at the young man. "You better not be thinking of any funny business."

His eyes widened and he waved his hands frantically in front of his face. "Of course not! That's very unprofessional - and ip even if a I wanted to, there are no blind spots left by security cameras." He chuckled nervously, "it seems that nobody trusts doctors not to exploit mental patients."

Rosalyne hovered in the doorway, "I guess I'll take my leave. Goodbye Baal."

Baal watched her leave and followed the man into the waiting room.

Y/n unwrapped her ice-cream, chucking the packaging into a trash can as she walked by. The frozen sweet was an oasis in the midday heat.

She poked her tongue out to lick slowly at the treat and continued up the path.

Heels clacked on the pavement and a girl stumbled up behind her.

Y/n spun around, paranoid.

Ningguang brushed her sweaty fringe from her forehead and fanned herself with the papers crumpled in her hand. "Y/n!"
