"Don't you think you should have? Look... David's not a mind-reader, and he doesn't expect anyone to bow at his feet... but he does need to know that he's cared for or loved, Billie. Everyone needs to hear that once in a while. Don't you?"

"Yes! Okay...you're right...I should have told him...but that doesn't excuse him from the shit he pulled on the Ellen show!"

"No...it doesn't...but Ellen did violate David's 'golden rule'...as he calls it."

"What golden rule?"

"David has a problem with rich people. Especially ones that seem to 'look down' upon other people."

"What the hell does that have to do with what happened on the Ellen show?"

"Maybe David feels that Ellen was looking down on him, by judging the two of you."

"But if he would've let me handle things..."

"Billie...you sat there and agreed with everything Ellen said. How was that handling things? I'm not saying you're wrong...but if you really care about David? Then you better consider his feelings too."

"Well...what was I supposed to say? David practically admitted on nationwide television that there was something between us. Now my manager is on my case about it!"

"His manager wants him to apologize to Ellen. David disagrees. He did strike a chord when he mentioned Mel Gibson though."

"So, you're saying you agree with him?"

"He asked me that earlier. I told him that I agreed with both him and Ellen. What the two of you have together, is morally wrong...but whoever said love always makes sense?"

"What makes you think I love him?"

"Billie...seriously? You can see it in your eyes. Why do you keep denying it?"

"Well...because I... I mean..."

"You're afraid of what others say or think?"

"Yes."

(Valerie laughs.) "God...that brings back memories."

"What do you mean?"

"When Eddie and I first started dating? He was a young rock and roll legend. Me? I was considered America's sweetheart. There were a lot of surprised people when the two of us got together. The bad-boy rocker and the princess they called us."

"What would you call me and David?"

"I'd say beauty and the beast, but I'm sure social media will come up with more colorful names for you two, especially after today's events. What does your heart tell you?"

(Billie lays in her bed alone later that night. It was raining outside now. She was exhausted from work, but she couldn't sleep. Both her and Valerie had tried for hours to reach David on his cell phone, but with no luck.)

(She didn't know where he was, or how he was. She just remembered the anger in his eyes, but there was something else there as well...sadness...confusion? Like maybe he was questioning the reasons why he was on tour with her. Billie wasn't sure. She just knew the two of them had to talk to one another...but that was hard to do, with David gone. Billie keeps trying to text him...but everything she texted she kept deleting. Why am I having such difficulty texting him about how I feel? Billie thinks. I love him...don't I?)

(She finally decides on a four worded text...in all capital letters...I NEED YOU NOW....she sends it. She notices that the wind was gusting now, and it begins raining harder outside, which made her worry even more. She texts David again...WHERE ARE YOU?... she types and sends.)
