Do you love Me?

(The doors open, I go to walk in when someone shoves me into the elevator from behind. I turn around, and Billie is standing in front of me. She pushes the emergency stop button on the elevator, then throws her arms around my neck.)

"Hi!" (She lip locks me...and I had to fight the urge not to choke her. I felt angry, betrayed...and being this close to Billie was only making things worse. I finally grab her shoulders and push her away.)

"Hey...thought you liked my kisses?"

"Is that why Needle Dick is here?"

"I didn't know he'd be here, David. I didn't call him!"

"Somebody did. Was it the same somebody that told you to kiss his cheek?"

"David...I can explain."

"Please do before my stomach hurls."

"I didn't know he was going to show up here. I didn't know he was going to kiss my cheek."

"And the reason you kissed his cheek was?"

"He told me if I didn't kiss him back it would make him look bad in front of the fans, so I did."

"Oh my God...that's...that's..."

"What?"

"Do you realize how fucked up that excuse is? That's like saying...well...Claudia or some other girl asked me to fuck her, so in order not to make her look bad...I did."

"That's not fair! Those are two different things!"

"Same fucking principle, Billie."

"Well...you kissed Claudia's cheek, and you never told me! I had to find out from Claudia! Do you know how that made me feel?"

(Sighs) "And here we go back on that subject again. God...why must we keep rehashing past shit?"

"You brought up Claudia...not me!"

(Neither of us knew, that Finneas and Needle Dick were standing outside the elevator doors, with smiles on their faces, as they listen to us arguing.)

"Your plan working, bro."

"I'll do anything to get my sister away from that asshole."

"Is he that bad?"

"I don't want any guy near my sister without my approval! Did you set things in motion like I told you too?"

"Sure enough."

"Now we sit back and wait."

(The two of them walk away from the elevator shaft laughing. Meanwhile Billie and I are still 'supposedly' stuck in the elevator arguing.)

"What do you want me to say, Billie? I'm here now...on tour, with you...because you asked me to come with you."

"Yeah, and once again. Here you are playing your jealousy routine...and I'm getting sick of it, David!"

(I step close to Billie. It was very quiet in the elevator.)

"Do you love me, Billie?"

"I've told you that I feel the same way about you!"

"But...do you love me? If you do, please look me in the eyes now and tell me."

"I... love you." (Billie whispers while looking down.)

(I brush her cheek gently and tilt her face up towards mine.)

"Those were my sneakers you were talking too. Talk to me."

(Tears begin forming in Billie's eyes.) "You've said you wouldn't force me into anything, David."

"That was before Needle Dick showed up. You can't tell me...can you?"

"I kiss you; I fuck with you. I asked you to join me on tour. What more do you want from me, David?"

(I continue to brush her cheek. I hated to see her cry, but I had to know the truth.)
