(We appear on the Ellen show. The audience was full of fans chanting Billie's name.)
(She introduces Billie, while I sit in a waiting area with my guitar, watching the show on an overhead monitor. They talk for a while.)
(Billie sings a few of her songs.)
(After the song, they sit and talk some more about Billie's career.)
"So, you and your brother recently did a highly successful Live from Home show, which was filmed from your bedroom studio."
"We did. It was a lot of fun. It was our way of giving back to our fans. Plus, we helped raise money for different charities."
(Her fans cheer wildly.)
"And you broke a few internet records for most watched show...but the question that everyone seems to be asking is, your decision to break away from your usual type of music. You sang the song Stairway to Heaven as your last song...what made you decide to sing that particular song?"
"I had heard the song at the Van Halen concert and..."
"You were at the Van Halen concert?"
"I was. Along with my brother Finneas and Claudia."
"All three of you? How did you get tickets to a sold-out concert? I couldn't get tickets."
"Well...I can be very influential when I need to be." (Laughs.)
(I'm sitting backstage trying not to laugh.)
"Influential my ass. I sent you the tickets." I mutter to myself.
"You're obviously very influential. How were you able to get a guitarist, that no one has ever seen or heard of before, to perform at your show?"
"I asked him."
"And just like that he said yes? I heard a story that someone gave you roses at the concert...is that true?"
"Well...I am Billie Eilish." (They both laugh.)
"Well...he's here now. So, let's bring him out here. Ladies and Gentlemen...please welcome...Phantom Rocker."
(I walk onto the stage playing the song 'Eruption'.)
(The crowd cheers wildly after the song. Even Billie took the time to applaud me...which was surprising. I go to take a seat, on the other side of Ellen.)
"No... over there...next to Billie."
(I scowl a bit but go over and sit next to Billie.)
"Hi." Billie says cheerfully.
"Hey." (I reply. Doing my best to avoid direct eye contact with her. I look out into the audience and spy Valerie. She was giving me her 'worried' look. Was the tension between Billie and myself that obvious?)
(Ellen and I talk for a while. I tell her I'm from Philly, which gets a few cheers from the crowd.)
"How did you learn to play like you do? Who taught you?"
