"I'm only going about another mile..."

"THEN WHAT THE HELL DID YOU PICK ME UP FOR?? YOU THINK I GOT NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH MY LIFE, THAN TO SIT HERE AND PASS THE TIME WITH YOU? SHIT BRAINS!!

"I don't think I want this ride after all." (I open the passenger side door.)"And... I think I'll take your wife...if you don't mind."(Laughs manically as I grab Billie's hand and pull her out of the truck.)

"Shit!" (The old guy says as he starts the truck and puts it in gear. I toss our bags out of the truck bed and jump out as the truck speeds away in a cloud of dust.)

"David...you, okay? David?"

(I roll over and point at Billie.)

"Told you that you shouldn't have taken that ride."

"Yea...because you know everything...right?"

"That's right."(I reply while brushing myself off.)

"Then you must also know that it's impossible for me to appreciate anything nice you might have done!"

(Billie goes to grab her bags, but I grab her arm.)

"Billie...I'm sorry about earlier. You, okay?"

"Yea."

"You're sure?"

"Yea."

"Alright."

(I go to grab some bags, as Billie watches me.)

"Why did you get on the back of that truck?"

"Because...I'm the kind of guy, who likes to live on the edge."

(We gather our bags and begin walking down the road again. After several miles, it begins to get dark quick, and the wind begins to blow. Suddenly there's a loud thunderclap, and it begins raining hard. We grab our bags and run for cover.)

"Storm's coming! Over there! I think I see a mobile home!"

(We run towards the mobile home to find it locked.)

"This is good. This is very good. It's important that this particular mobile home has a secure lock on it, in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!" I yell.

"I think I see a house over there." Billie replies.

(We run towards an old, abandoned house. The door won't open. After a few hard kicks, I get it open. Billie and I run inside and sit down on an old sofa. Then we notice we're still getting wet. We both look up and notice holes in the roof. We move over to a closet. I pull a dusty tarp off of some furniture and pull it over Billie and myself.)

"That's not going to keep us dry for long." Billie says.

"Better than nothing." (I reply, as I pull her close.)

"We need to get these wet clothes off." (Billie sneezes.)

"You're right. Take this tarp. Keep yourself covered."

"What about you?"

"I'll find another tarp. Go on...get some dry clothes on."

"Hurry back!"

"I'll try. Stay here!"

(David closes the closet door as Billie begins digging thru her bag for dry clothes. It was difficult seeing anything in total darkness, and the roar of the wind seemed to be louder. 'Oh God...what if we're right in the path of some tornado?' Billie thinks.)

(She finishes getting dressed. David hadn't returned yet. The wind was so strong that the door was rattling on its hinges. 'What the hell was taking David so long? She couldn't stay here alone. What if something had happened to him? What if he was injured?' Billie carefully reaches for the doorknob. Suddenly the door flies open, Billie screams, as a bright light shines in her face.)

"C'mon! I found a bedroom that's mostly intact."

(We grab our bags and run towards the bedroom. Billie falls onto the bed, as I grab the hammer and nails, I had found and begin boarding up the second window. I'm almost done, when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around...and Billie slaps me across my face. I drop the hammer and nails.)

"What the hell was that for?"
