"Wait...what do you mean you didn't spend any time together for four months?"

"No sir, we didn't. She claimed she was too busy with tour stuff. Her brother...helped keep away her night terrors she told me."

"Our son kept her night terrors away. Did Billie say how?"

"They...kissed and... cuddled together."

"What the hell!? Billie told you this. When?"

"When she came to see me in Philly. When she was trying to win my heart back. Is there something I'm missing? I assumed both of you knew about this, since you were both with Billie on tour?"

"When did you and Billie have sex during the tour?"

"I'm positive it was after four months, probably a month before the tour ended. In fact, it was the night I got sick because I was on the roof in the pouring rain. Billie came and got me, and... well...one thing led to another."

"He's right. I remember Billie texted me about him being sick." Maggie says.

"Why are you asking me all this?" I ask.

"We think our daughter's been lying to us about not planning to get pregnant. The question is...to who? You or our son?"

"If I had to place a bet. I wouldn't choose me, sir."

"Why not?"

"Because Billie told me that night that we couldn't have unsafe sex...just...us not doing it for four months...you know...Guess I shouldn't have kissed her that night."

"Have you gotten a D.N.A. test done yet?"

"I got one scheduled in a few days."

"Are you planning on marrying our daughter?"

"I don't know...I mean...after what happened between her and her brother. I do care about her. I won't deny that."

"But?"

"How'd you know there was a but?"

"My wife and I have raised two kids. We can usually tell when something's off."

"I wonder...if Billie loves me enough to marry me, or if she's only asking me to cover the fact that the baby might be her brother's? And can we ever truly get past what her and Finneas did? Or will I always wonder what the two of them are doing while on tour together?"

"You're wondering if you can ever trust her again?"

"Yes, sir...and right now...I don't know."

"Do you love our daughter?"

(Chuckles) "Yes, sir. Even if she does drive me crazy at times."

"What if her baby isn't yours?"

"I don't know...I mean...Billie...has asked me to claim paternity for the kid, even if it isn't mine."

"Did she say why?"

"Because claiming the baby as her brother's would destroy her career. I... haven't decided yet."

"Alright. Thank you for your honesty. You better go see Billie before she wakes and catches us talking together."

"Alright." (I walk back towards the house.)

"Maggie...we need to find out the truth. I don't care how."

"Billie keeps a diary hidden in her bedroom. Surely, you're not suggesting...?"

"We need to know all the details, Maggie. I mean...to find out that her and her brother were kissing and cuddling during the tour? If it turns out its Finneas's baby..."

"That would be a disaster."

"Think I'm beginning to understand why Billie wants David to marry her so badly. In case it is her brother's baby. Do you think he will? I mean if the baby isn't his?"

"I don't know, Patrick. He loves Billie, there's no doubt about that...but if the baby isn't his. What she's asking him to do...is a total life changing lie."
