"I don't know. Even if the truth comes out. They'll probably play it all off as their 'love child'...and her fans will gobble it up...unbelievable. Besides things have already been set in motion. Things I can't stop now."

"What things?"

"It's best if you don't know."

"David..."

"Damn it, Valerie. I'm doing what needs to be done to protect those I care about. Can you please just leave it at that? Please?"

"Now you're scaring me, David."

"To be honest with you. I'm scared too."

"Does Billie know about this?"

"Yes and No."

"And you're just now telling me...your best friend?"

"It was hard enough telling Billie. Telling you that I have to leave isn't much easier."

"Wait...what the hell you mean...you're leaving? Where are you going? When are you coming back?"

"I don't know. I just know I can't be here to help raise a kid."

"Damn it! You're not leaving my sight until I get some answers that make sense!"

"Valerie...the more I tell you about what little info I know. The greater the chances are that if anyone finds out we talked about this. It could put you and your family in great danger. They would stop at nothing to get whatever information they could out of you. Whether thru torture or threats."

"But...I don't understand. Why must you leave? Why would anyone think you're any kind of threat to them? You're just an average guy, who is very talented on guitar. So why would anyone want to harm you or your friends?"

"God...this is so difficult for me to explain."

"Try."

(Valerie and I sit and talk for a while.)

"You can't tell anyone what I've just told you, Valerie. I'm serious about that."

(Valerie removes her hand from her mouth.)

"I'm not sure if anyone would believe me, even if I did tell them."

"Billie knows I intended to leave...but since she got raped and is pregnant. I told her I'd stay as long as she needs me. I haven't told Claudia."

"You still love her...don't you?"

"That's the problem. I've never had to let go of a woman I love, to protect them before...and now I got two."

"So, why can't you tell either of them the truth?"

"Because...they'll try to talk me into staying...and I can't."

"So, what happens now?"

"I do the tour, and I try to find a way to let Billie and Claudia go."

(Meanwhile in another part of Los Angeles, the manager of Interscope Records is getting ready to leave his office for the night, when 3 mysterious gentlemen, arrive at his office.)

"Good evening. We are here on behalf of Galactic Records. I believe you spoke to one of our representatives a few days ago?"

"I spoke with them. I'll tell you like I told them. I'm not selling Interscope Records to anybody. I don't care how much money you're offering!"

"Come now, sir! There's no need to use harsh words with us! Two of your stars, Lil Nas and Miley Cyrus have already agreed to terms with us. Other stars are sure to follow. We are not taking your company away from you. You will still be in charge, as long as you follow our orders. We just have need of your business talents, and the voices of your highly devoted, talented stars."
