The true face of Humanity

(Days later...the vote regarding the Purge takes place. Most people vote against it, but as the night drags on the numbers begin to change. By morning...the results were in...37 million for...5 thousand against. Public outrage quickly begins, as the public protest about voter fraud and ballot tampering...but no one dared to stand up against their own government, not if they wanted to live. The three businessmen are hailed as saviors by the media. They are quickly known as the new founding fathers of America. The President and his cabinet do everything the new founding fathers tell them to do. Freedom of speech and choice are quickly banned. Prostitution is legalized. Slavery is legalized. The sale of guns goes thru the roof.)

(The Purge is scheduled to take place on July the 4th... starting at 12:00 a.m. and last until 8 in the morning. All hospitals are to be closed, all police stations. All laws are to be suspended for 8 hours; any crime is allowed during the Purge. Those that have money quickly hire others to protect them and their property. Those that cannot afford Purge Insurance, are forced to fend for themselves.)

(Months later at exactly 12 a.m., a loud wailing siren goes off, in various parts of the United States. Signaling the start of the Purge. At first, nothing much happened. The government had drones flying everywhere recording everything, televising it on every major station and streaming service. There were a few store lootings, properties vandalized, but nothing was really getting the ratings up. Unfortunately, the government had a plan in place, a very devious plan. If people would not willingly go out and kill others on live television, the government would do it for them. Of course, they couldn't send out their own troops dressed in military garb to start killing anyone. That would create bad publicity for the military, so they did the next best thing. They dressed military people up in different outfits to start the killing. The Purge had officially begun.)

(At the O'Connell residence, armed security is patrolling the grounds. Billie's husband had personally sent a squad of NFFA soldiers to guard the premises. Patrick was tempted to tell them to go to hell, but he was still recovering from the beating he took months ago. The four of them sit in the living room, watching the horror unfold on television. Finneas sat next to Claudia, on the sofa, as his parents exchanged worried glances. Every now and then, there was the sounds of gunfire or explosions in the distance...but the sound wasn't coming from just the television. It was coming from outside, as people in their own neighborhood fought to protect what belonged to them. Fought to protect the ones they loved. There were screams as people were killed in various ways. There were burglaries, rapes, places burned to the ground...but no police, or ambulances responded. Those that were injured went to hospitals, only to find them locked down by government orders.)

"I hope our daughter is safe, amongst all this madness." (Maggie whispers.)

"If anyone deserves to die tonight, it's that son of a bitch Billie's married too." (Finneas mumbles.)

"Quiet! I don't like having these NFFA bastards near our property or Billie anymore than you do! But we don't need any of them reporting back to their superiors how we truly feel about them. I'm doing whatever's necessary to keep this family safe!"

"I know! I just wish I could do something about the way he treats Billie."

"Billie has made her own choice....unfortunately."
