I groaned as I try to get out of my husband's arms to quickly turn off the alarm before it wakes up the baby. Before I can get back into his arms, he turned around, his back to me, sleeping soundly.Every time James wakes up during the night Robert will get up and bring him to me, no matter how tired he is, he always does it. I know it is taking a toll on him but I would try to get up gently but he still manages to rush me to the door.
This morning we have to work but I decided to let him sleep a little longer. I got up, showered, got ready. While making my way to the kitchen I heard James starting to fuss.
"Good morning baby boy..." I said while picking him up out of his crib. I fed him, burped him and then got him ready for day care. While holding him, he fell asleep so I went and put him next to his father on our bed, ensuring a pillow was behind him in case he rolled over.
After putting James in our room, I went to the kitchen to make breakfast for Robert and I. I made scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. I put everything on a tray with two glasses of orange juice and two mugs of coffee, then made my way up to our bedroom.
I walked into the room to see my boys snuggled close to each other. Robert on his side, with his arm resting gently on James while James' head is slightly snuggled into his chest. James may only be three months but he knows his father.
I placed the tray on the couch before making my way to Robert's side. I sat in the space behind him. I ran my hand up his bare back making my way to his cheek. I gently caressed it while saying "Robert baby, time to get up."
"Babe wake up..." he didn't move. I got up and began kissing and nibbling his ear then kissing his cheek. While kissing him I felt his cheek move so I knew he was awake
"Mr Sullivan I know you are awake, you better wake your sexy self up, I made breakfast." I said turning walking to the couch
"Hey where did you go?! I was enjoying that." He said as he shot up
"I made breakfast, come on." gesturing him to the couch I was sitting on
"Mhmmmm this looks amazing."
"Just like my husband." I said looking at him up and down smirking
"Hold on, don't we have to work today? What's the time?" He questioned
"Yes we do, it's 7:15."
"It's so late, we'll be late. Why did you let me sleep in?" He asked rudely
"We won't be late, my dad will be here for James in 20 minutes. I left you to sleep in because you are exhausted Robert. I got up, got ready, got James ready and made breakfast for you and your big question is why did I let you sleep in? You literally still have 45 minutes to get ready."
I got up took my plate and my mug and went downstairs leaving him standing in shock. While eating downstairs I heard James crying and the shower running. So I went up to the room and picked him up.
"Hi baby, mommy is here, it's okay..." I said softly bouncing up and down slightly to calm him down.
I was almost at the door when I heard Robert behind me
"Andy I'm sorry okay, I just woke up bad."
"Okay" is all I said before walking out of the room.
