Trying to adjust to the harsh metal in my moth and stood and tried once more to pull the much heavier cart.

Now-

I struggled to get air in my lungs as the cart harness tried to choke me as i pulled to cart up the steep hill. I could hear Rei screaming, but i was unable to make out the words she was speaking. Everything seemed blurry for some reason. All i did was climb. Step by step, struggle with every pull and yank, with every taste of the whip against my back. I was burning hot, the work was driving my body heat through the roof, my body responding, slickened up my skin with sweat, giving me the odd feeling of the surface freezing and the internal being much too hot. My body heaved as i pulled and pulled. The whip gifting me with lacerations that bled and hurt with every moment i heard. Everything seemed slow, and distorted. The harsh metallic bit in my mouth saturated my taste buds with the flavor of Iron and blood, as it scrapped against my gums. Everything hurts. My mind dazed, flashed the image of clears bloody leg, and i pulled the cart harder. this was why i had done it. why i am suffering. it is better to be hurt than to hurt others, a faint voice rang out in my brain. but for some reason, i could not recall who had said it. I heaved, forcing air into my body to fuel me for the daunting task i had been asked to do. for clear. this was all for clear. Finally, i received the tug i had been waiting for. The tug the signaled that we were home. I collapsed into a heap, i mess of chains ropes leather and blood. I could make out the distorted form of Rei make her way into the house and the form of Clear making his way slowly towards me. I struggled, and managed a weak smile at him.

"Naru," clear said, as he knelt down next to me. Undoing the harness which kept me bound to the cart. "Why. Why did you do it. You could have been safe up in the cart, you wouldn't have had to deal with that." Clear looked at me in the eye. "Why did you risk your safety like that?" I smiled at him again.

"Because......" I murmured out struggling to draw breath in my banged up lungs. "We are...... brothers." Clear blinked away a single tear and he gently lifted me up and i fought back the urge to scream. My ribs felt as though they had been broken by the harness. Which was possible. My back was in no better shape. Countless bloody gashes covered my back, it looked at though someone dowsed my back in red paint. With clear half carrying me, we retreated towards the safety of the basement, where he laid me down on a thin pile of old blankets which marked our bed.

"Hold still, i am going to try to clean up the blood." Clear spoke softly, as he began to scrape away at the crusting red liquid on my back. I bit my lip as the pain washed through me. And then he stopped. I shivered, cold seeping from the floor into my body.

"Cold." I said softly, as Clear snuggled up to sleep with me. Warmth was emitting from him soothing me and my body release its tension as i gazed into his pale eyes and at his snowy hair.

"Better?" He asked. I nodded slowly and yawned. My body inched closer to him and i dozed off into the gentle sea of sleep.

My eyes flashed open, as clear poked at my side.

"What?" I moaned out trying to roll over and go back to sleep.

"Look at the stars!" I sighed,sat up, and stood up and went over to where clear was standing. My gaze shifted out of the tiny window to look up a the stars, which shone high up in the distant sky. My eyes widened as i looked.

"So bright." I whispered out.

"Right?" He murmured back. I sighed as i gazed upwards.

"Hey clear. Do you think....that Konoha is a real place?"

"I dont know. I have never heard of it before." I frowned and looked over at him.

"Well. Rei once told me about it. She said it was a place where people understand pain and love and that they all believe peace is the answer to war." Clear looked at me weirdly.

"Doesn't sound real. Besides. Rei is mad as a hatter. Don't listen to her words." I pursed my lips and turned my eyes back towards the stars. So, i guess clear doesn't think it is real. I sighed and leaned my head against my arm.

"Hey Clear." I said softly as i laid down beneath the window, the stars still visible from where i lay. i watched the stars glimmer and shine from the new spot on the floor under the window. "Will you. Sing me a song?" I could head clear lay down beside me and get comfortable.

"Yes." He said patting me head. "Anything in particular?" He asked me. I thought over his words. He only knew some songs. Enough to count on his fingers. But there was one that was my favorite. One that i loved to hear more than anything.

"I want to hear the Jellyfish lullaby." I said yawning. "Its my favorite~" i reminded him with a grin. He nodded and smiled before he opened his mouth to begin.

I yawned and slowly drifted off into sleep next to him, the gentle lullaby sending me of into the open sea of dreams.
