Good Morning

A few months later...

Mikey was peacefully snoring in his room, until his alarm clock went off. Unlike most teenagers, he woke up with a bright smile and sat up straight. He yawned for a moment and then looked around, Mikey gasped gleefully as he jumped out of his hammock and zoomed to the calendar he had nailed on the back of his door. "Aw yeah! It's Family Night!" Mikey said, but he suddenly heard someone stomping from above. "Your alarm clock, bud!" Leo called out from the room above. Mikey looked over and chuckled sheepishly and quickly turned off his alarm clock. "Sorry Leo!" Mikey called out, he didn't hear an answer so he only sighed.

"Only the pizza supreme in the sky knows this family needs Family Night." Mikey said as he walked over to his closet. It has only been about a few months since the family freed The Shredder from his dark armor, sending his and his daughter's, Karai, souls back up to the afterlife. It only took a few weeks for Raph and Leo to fight about the sudden transition of Leo becoming the leader instead of Raph. Everyone, even Leo, begged for Splinter to switch things back. But Splinter made his decision final and it was never brought up to him. Donnie would've tried bringing it up more often, but he was so obsessed with the new ability everyone gained called Hamato Ninpo.

Donnie promised he wouldn't go over board with trying to see what they could do, but that was almost a full month ago. Now, he spends most of his time in his lab and barely comes out. So Mikey took it upon himself to make sure Donnie ate, drank and most importantly, slept. Mikey would usually go into Donnie's room even for no reason, which Donnie didn't seem bothered by. April would've helped the guys, but she was busy with several things which ranged from getting a job that lasted longer than a few weeks, passing school and helping Draxum and Casey get back into human society.

Speaking of Casey, her apartment was kinda trashed so she was staying with April. Draxum was trying his best to not use mystic magic, but we all know he does it anyways. Once Mikey was all set, he dashed to his door and waited a few moments. He looked around his room and then knocked on the door three times for good luck. Mikey then swung open his door and looked around with a giant smile. Mikey rushed over to the edge of the stairs and looked over, smiling even brighter. For once, Raph and Leo were in the same room and not fighting. They both might be on the opposite sides, but they were in the same room nonetheless. Mikey then zoomed down the stairs, jumping off at the last set of stairs and then using some of his ninpo to try and make sure he landed softly.

"Ta-da!" Mikey said loudly as his brothers looked up at him. "Nice Mikey." Raph smiled as he looked up from a comic book he was reading. Leo was punching a dummy that was moved and looked up at Mikey for a brief moment. "Have you guys seen Donnie this morning?" Mikey asked, a smile still on his face. "Dude hasn't left his room yet." Leo answered as he pretended to dodge an attack. Raph looked at Leo for a moment and blinked. "You look stupid when you dodge." Raph said as Leo attempted to kick the dummies torso, but Leo stopped and looked at Raph. "I'd like to see you try to do better." Leo grumbled, upsetting Mikey a little. Raph was about to try and say something, but Mikey reacted first.

"Oh come on guys! No fighting, you guys know the rules about tonight!" Mikey huffed in a pout as he folded his arms across his chest. The other two looked at Mikey, then each other and then Mikey again. "It's family night!" Mikey said brightly, Raph hid his face with the comic book while Leo rolled his eyes a bit. "Oh come on guys, just for tonight? April, Casey and Barry are even coming tonight!" Mikey attempted to say as Leo rubbed the back of his neck. "Not unless April's school has them all doing something." Raph said, both Mikey and Leo shot either a glare or a tired look at him. But Raph sighed as he put the comic book down.

"Fine, I promise to try not to fight with Leo if he promises not to both with how much I relax." Raph said as he looked at Leo, who sighed for a moment. "Fine, but only if you don't bring up how you could do things better than me." Leo said as he folded his arms across his chest. Mikey smiled brightly and then began to walk into the kitchen, unaware of the glares both brothers were sharing with the other. Mikey began to try and collect things to make an omelette and cooked it. No one else was in the kitchen so Mikey leaned against the counter as he waited for the omelette to cook a bit before flipping it over.

It was like it was yesterday that his brothers and Splinter waited in the kitchen, all fighting over who would get the first plate. "I was here first!" Leo would usually say as he wrestled with Donnie. "Well I'm the smartest! I need to eat more than the rest of you if I want to outlive you!" Donnie would say, typically being held back as Raph tried to get Splinter away from the table. "Pops! There isn't enough room!" Raph would say, repeatedly pulling Splinter off the table like he was a cat. "But I'm orange's favorite Sensi!" Splinter would say, Raph, Leo and Donnie would stop what they were doing to stare at him. "YOU'RE HIS ONLY SENSI!" The boys would yell, ruling out Splinter's reason. But now, the room was dimly lit and so quiet, you could hear the pipes from outside the lair. Mikey smirked as he turned around and flipped the omelette and then rushed over to the coffee machine. 

He noticed it was full so he grabbed Donnie's coffee mug and opened a secret cabinet full of things Donnie would use for his morning coffee. Only Mikey knew about it because Donnie was too lazy to get up and make his own. Once Mikey was done making Donnie's coffee, he checked the omelette and then proceeded to put it onto a plate. He added some salt to the top before setting all the breakfast onto a tray labeled "Donnie" and then rushing off. Mikey carefully walked up the stairs, humming a tune from Encanto while doing so. Once he reached Donnie's lab, he knocked on the door and waited for a moment. When Mikey didn't get an answer, he looked around to make sure Leo and Raph weren't around before putting the secret code into the door.

A scanner appeared and waited for Mikey to speak. "Breakfast delivery for Donnie!" Mikey said brightly, keeping his voice down. He didn't know if Donnie was watching him through the scanner or not, but he still remained quiet in case Donnie just woke up. The scanner scanned the tray before making a positive sound and then going back into the door. The lab door slowly opened and revealed Donnie's room/lab. Mikey walked into the room and looked at the floor, just in case a broken bottle was on the ground or something. Once Mikey was positive the floor was clear, he began to walk to Donnie's incubator bed. Once he made it there, Mikey smirked when he saw the incubator was closed. Mikey carefully set the try down on a nearby table and then began to climb up the ladder, knocking on the incubator quietly. He waited for a moment and heard a groan.

"Donnie?" Mikey asked quietly, waiting until he heard Donnie moving, the door cracking open a bit to reveal tired eyes. "I made your breaky..." Mikey whispered in a cheerful tone as Donnie blinked for a moment. Donnie sighed and then slowly opened the door and sat up in a groggy tone. Mikey climbed off the ladder and went to grab a computer chair. Donnie climbed down in a tired tone but smirked a bit when he saw Mikey's determined look as he pulled up a rolling chair. Once Mikey rolled up to Donnie, he cleared his throat. "Your majesty, your chariot awaits." Mikey said in an accent, but Donnie would only chuckle a bit as he sat on the rolling chair.

"You're gonna do this every time I wake up late, aren't you?" Donnie asked as Mikey pushed over to an empty table. "Whaaaaattttt, noooooo." Mikey joked as he ran to grab the tray and then set it in front of Donnie. Donnie rolled his eyes a bit as before he yawned a little, Mikey then cleared his throat again. "Breakfest is served!" Mikey grinned, Donnie seemed a bit satisfied as Mikey went to go grab another chair and sit next to Donnie.
