"I'm...the pawn?"

Chai grumbled as she adjusted her hair making sure the top knot was properly centered on her head.

"Ugh, I can't stand these topknots. Whose idea were these things anyway?"

Her displeased complaints were answered in response with a low groan that bellowed from outside. After securing her hair in place Chai stuck her head out the nearby window. She smiled at the sight of Dawn waiting for her. He let out another low roar as if telling the girl to hurry up.

"Okay! Okay! I'm coming!"

She checked one last time in the mirror, spotting a stray piece of hair falling to the left side of her face. She pushed it back up, only to have it fall again. Chai tried a third time to only end up with the same results.

"Whatever," she shrugged her shoulders and exited her home.

Chai held the end of her robs skipping down the stairs until she was outside. Dawn eagerly waited for his Master, a few onlookers gaping at the sight of the majestic beast. He had grown a fair good amount over the past three years. While his stature had yet to reach the size of Druk, Dawn had now become big enough to ride. He was just a bit bigger than the sato-mobiles that putted around the city.

"What do you think Dawn?" Chai gave a spin, her royal robes flourishing. "Am I presentable?"

Dawn let out a short huff as he snorted, the air from his nose blowing in Chai's face. She chuckled petting the dragon's snout, and he let out a low purr snuggling in closer to Chai's touch.

"Alright we better get going, we don't want to be late."

Dawn backed up and turned around presenting the saddle on his back. A custom leather saddle, made by the heiress of Future Industries. Chai climbed up, doing her best to bunch up her robes to keep herself from getting tangled. Once settled she grabbed Dawn's reigns.

"Alright boy, let's ride!"

Today was the day of celebration. Changers were coming as the world moved towards a brighter future. Republic City was making amazing headway as it stepped into the future, guided by bright minds such as Asami Sato. Future Industries finished its largest project to date, and those within the city wanted to celebrate the growth and prosperity. The city was also hosting a rather interesting guest.

"And of course, my biggest thanks goes to Asami Sato and Future Industries. She brought our old central terminal into the modern era. Ladies and gentlemen, the world is entering a new age of peace and prosperity. Soon, Prince Wu will take his rightful place on the Earth Kingdom throne. And thanks to our updated rail system, Republic City and the Earth Kingdom will be united like never before!"

The crowd applauded as Raiko and Asami cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Chai smiled from her spot amongst the delegates and figureheads. She clapped happy and proud of her friend's major accomplishments.

"I still can't stand that man," she mumbled her smile not dropping.

The ceremony was rather quick and once the ribbon was cut the crowd started to disperse, with a few people mingling about.

"Princess Chai."

The greeting brought a smile to Chai's lips. She turned around meeting sharp sunset orange hues.
