Evening came and the sun started to set and the group had split up doing varying things. Chai had gone back to Huan, the guy even more inspired when he caught the way the light of the setting sun reflected off of Chai's hair. The artist stood in front of a lump of metal and Chai stood next to it. He instructed her to move every so often as he twisted and bent the metal. Chai complied, striking a new pose with a smile on her face the entire time.
A good distance away a certain brooding firebender stood watching the two. He was leaning against a pillar, a deep-set frown on his face, his arms crossed as he kept his eyes on Chai and Huan.
Bolin who had been strolling by, casually humming hands tucked in his pockets, paused and did a backpedal spotting his seething brother. He smirked and slid up next to the firebender.
"Hey, bro whatcha doing?" Bolin asked in a canny manner.
"Nothing," Mako said, not even moving an inch as he continued to glare on.
"Hmm...nothing you say. Cause it looks like to me you're trying to burn a hole in that guy's head," Bolin said
Mako didn't respond, instead focused all his attention on Chai as the girl laughed, getting into another pose that showed off the Princess's flexibility. Huan framed his hands nodding before he moved the metal.
"What is he even doing? That thing," Mako gestured to the metal sculpture. "Doesn't even look like her. And why is she laughing so much?"
Bolin's smirk turned into a more amused smile. He put a hand on Mako's shoulder shaking his head.
"Oh, Mako, Mako, Mako."
Mako raised a brow, finally looking at his brother.
"What?"
Bolin just chuckled and walked away.
"What?" Mako called out to his brother.
Once the sun fully set the city of Zaofu closed the metal domes protecting the city. Everyone gathered in the large dining hall for dinner, the group sitting at a large table where all of the cutlery was made of metal. Suyin, Korra, and Lin sat at the head of the table. Huan and the twins on the left, and the rest of Team Avatar, along with Opal, on the right.
"Wow..." Chai gazed at the food with hungry eyes.
"Tonight, for your dining pleasure, I present a seared wild Kyoshi elephant koi, paired with a ginger-infused pea tendril and hibiscus root salad," The Chef said
"Stunning," Suyin said
An older man, along with another man whose arms were full of papers, walked by the open doors of the room.
"Sorry, dear, I'm going to have to take dinner to my office. I just had a major breakthrough on the tram station remodel."
"Well, don't let me stand in the way of inspiration," Suyin said
"You're the best!"
"That was my brilliant architect of a husband, Baatar, and our oldest son. He engineers all my husband's projects," Suyin said
"Five kids. What a nightmare," Lin said
"No, no. My children are a blessing," Suyin said
"Yeah, mom used to say that too, but she never meant it," Lin said
"Here you go, Dawn."
Chai held out a piece of fish to the dragon. The dragon leaned in close, his snout moving as he sniffed the food. Once he was satisfied Dawn quickly snatched the fish devouring it in one go.
