SEASON 4 - LUKANETTE

LUKANETTE - TRUTH - PT 1

LUKA'S POV

It had been three weeks since I had been dating my beautiful melody, Marinette. She was the most extraordinary girl I had ever met. I just loved being around her. I was so glad that I could be there for her when she had her breakdown. I was so happy that she was so honest with me and entrusted me with her secret.

I did worry about her though. I know she's the protector of Paris and all as well as the new guardian, but as her boyfriend I am now forever worrying about her safety.

I walked over to the bakery as I was taking her to see an old Jagged Stone movie and it was the last screening so this was our last chance to see it.

On the way I tried calling her but it went to her voicemail. Maybe she's taking a shower I thought as I put my phone back in my pocket. Then my phone beeped. I got pictures of her room. I giggled. She's such a funny girl I thought to myself. I was only 5 minutes away so I decided to call her from the bakery.

'Hello Mr and Mrs Dupain-Cheng' I said as I greeted her parents.

'Hello Luka' they said. 'So glad you're here to take Marinette out of the house, she always seems so worked up lately. A nice relaxing movie would do her good!' Mrs Dupain-Cheng smiled.

'I'll call her and see if she's ready' I replied, as I got my phone out and called her. This time Marinette picked up.

'Luka! Hey, how are you?' Mari said a bit out of breath. It sounded like she had been running.

'I'm good. Thanks for sending me the pictures of your room. I especially loved the pictures of the blue haired boy on your wall' I replied with a smile.

'Oh, yeah! Funny story about that! I'll tell you all about it sometime!' she laughed.

'Well, they look great. But I'd much rather see a picture of you. Speaking of pictures, I'm downstairs already, are you ready to go?'

'Go? Go where?' Mari answered.

'To the last screening of the Jagged Stone movie. Remember yesterday you had to cancel?'

'Oh, right! Of course! I'll be right down!' Mari replied as she hung up.

A few minutes later she ran down the stairs.

'Hey Luka! Sorry I took so long to get ready! Let's go!' Mari said as she gave me a peck on the cheek and grabbed my hand as we headed out the door and waved goodbye to her parents.

'Sorry about the photos, that was the Kwamis trying to take selfies. They don't show up on electronic devices apparently, so imagine how stupid I looked when the girls called me on Skype and I was trying to explain my new "squishies" I made that they...couldn't...see' she said as she did a facepalm.

I giggled to myself but I could tell she was overwhelmed.

'My melody...' I said softly, stopping and putting my hands on her shoulders turning her to look at me as she blushed slightly. I loved the way she blushed. I usually smile when she does, but right now, I was too concerned about her.

'Please take a break. I know you're the protector of Paris and all, as well as guardian now, but I'm always here for you if things get too much. Plus I... worry about you. I'm so afraid that...you'll get hurt.'

I hugged her tightly. I didn't want anyone to hurt my melody, the one who saved my sister, my mom and even...me! All I wanted to do was get back at Hawkmoth for putting my melody through all this stress. I swear if he was here right now, and I was Viperion, I would use my second chance over and over again until he was defeated.

'Luka...' Mari whispered softly in my ear that sent shivers down my spine, but in a nice way. 'I could never be hurt. My suit makes me pretty much invulnerable so I will always come back to you. I promise.'

We stopped hugging and I smiled and said, 'Okay my melody.'

She blushed and smiled back. I got lost in her eyes for a moment but then shook myself out of it.

'We'd better keep going or we'll be late for the movie' I smiled as I took her hand and she smiled back at me.
