"Laynie, do you have to leave?"

"Dad, I have to get out. I can't be here with Mom's death hanging over my head."

"But it's not your fault."

"I know that but I still want to leave. Please just don't tell anyone about me. It's for the better."

With that I close the door behind me and hop in the taxi that will take me to the airport. When I arrive I go through everything and board the flight to Los Angeles. When we take off I look down at the city that was my home. A tear slides down my cheek and I quickly wipe it away.

I hate leaving but I can't stay here after my mom's death. It'll be like a jail cell if I don't leave now. I just need something new, something to help me forget.

Little did I know that going to L.A. would change my life in a way I never expected.
