I walk through the doors of the district and immediately get bumped into. I'm about to hit the floor when someone catches me. The person brings me back up and we stare into each other's eyes for a few seconds. Then he sets me back on my feet and says, "Sorry about that."
With that he hurriedly walks away. I didn't even get a chance to look at his badge or catch his name.
I shake off the strange encounter and head upstairs. When I arrive Antonio is already there. I take a seat and then turn to him and say, "Who's that guy downstairs with blonde hair and a leather jacket?"
"Sean Roman. Why?"
"Almost bowled me over."
He chuckles and begins his work. After a few minutes he turns to me and says,
"Are you doing anything Friday night?"
"No but I'm not really looking for a relationship right now..."
"No I don't want to go out with you. I was going to ask if you were doing anything because I have my kids this weekend so I wanted to have you over for dinner to meet them."
"Oh sorry! But yeah, I'd really love that!"
We figure out the details and then we go back to work. We finish our paper work from yesterday and hand it in. Then we all do different things to pass the time, hoping that we'll get a case.
This is one of the big downsides of working in a special unit. We're not usually busy as we only do special cases. Most of the time we sit around and wait for a case but when we do get one we're always ready to go.
