When we arrive at Justin's Olive opens the door.She welcomes us in and I tell her that Camille is mine. She smiles and says,"That explains why you were so good with Zach."
I nod and say, "I need someone to look after her while I'm at work and I was wondering if you would be willing to take her?"
"Of course!"
We figure out the details and then Justin walks downstairs with Zach in his arms. I introduce him to Camille and then Olive says, "I'll take the kids to the park."
Justin and I nod and as soon as the door closes he says, "Do you mind telling me about it?"
I shake my head and we sit on the couch. I take a deep breath and say, "When I first arrived in LA I was a mess. I had my job in the NCIS unit but I was constantly grieving. One night I went to this puny bar around the corner from my apartment, got super drunk, and met Camille's Dad, Steve Mackenzie. Turns out that he did all of our Intel. Anyway, he sympathized with me and I went home with him that night. What we intended to be a one night stand turned into a relationship which in turn lead to me becoming pregnant. Our relationship was absolutely perfect until Camille was born. At first I thought that he was just scared to be a Dad but once I started going back to work we had agreed that we would alternate days taking care of her and working. Whenever it was his day to stay home he would leave before I woke up. When I finally confronted him things started getting bad and he became a jerk. After a bit I couldn't stand it anymore so he looked after Camille for 3 months while I restarted my life here."
After I finish his hands ball into fists and he says, "That dick! How dare he do that to my baby sister and niece! I can't wait to get my hands on him!"
I put my hand on his shoulder and say,"I'm in Chicago with Camille now. There's nothing else we need to do."
He nods and then we begin the walk to the park.
