I take a break from the investigation to grab a cup of coffee. As I wait for it to brew I think over what we know so far. The girl in the acid bath was identified as Laurel Pope. We've talked to everyone she was close to and they all said how she'd never harm a soul. She was also best friends with the girl who discovered her,Kate Johnston. We decided not to interview Kate as she would've known Laurel was there if she did it herself and wouldn't have called the police.

My coffee finishes brewing and as I stir in my cream and sugar I realize something. We could've totally overlooked Kate. I rush out to the main area, set my coffee down, and say, "We may have let Kate fall between the cracks. What if she did it? We established that someone with access to science department chemicals did it. The majors have access to all of the science department supplies at all times and I don't think its coincidence that Kate majors in Chemistry."

Halstead then sits up in his chair and says, "And it's not like someone could bring enough acid to fill a bathtub into a party and go unnoticed."

We all agree and then Mouse says, "From what I just read online, Sulfuric Acid also doesn't have a distinct smell if it sits out for a long period of time. There's no way Kate could've known it was acid unless she touched it, which we know she didn't, or put it there herself."

Dad nods and says, "Good work everyone. Let's suit up. Antonio and Laynie will go in while everyone else covers the entrances and exits. The rest of us will go in as soon as they have her."

We nod and quickly pull out of the district. When we arrive Antonio knocks on the door and then we wait for an answer.
