I smile at Sean as he walks back into my room. He smiles at me and then says, "You are all discharged and free to go home. You ready beautiful?"

I nod and say, "I'm more than ready. I wanted to go home days ago."

He smiles and carefully helps me out of the bed. My middle is still extremely tender and I know it will be for the next few days but thankfully Sean is taking a week off of work to help out around the house. Being a Mom and trying to heal your body do not work well together.

My thoughts are interrupted when I feel Sean's hand press lightly on the small of my back and he says, "Baby, you need to get changed before I can take you home."

I smile lightly and say, "Sorry, I was thinking. Turn around so I can change."

He pulls me closer to him and then says, "Darling, I'm going to help you. I don't want you to hurt yourself. Besides, it's not like I haven't seen you like that before."

I shake my head at him and then reply, "I don't want you to see the bullet holes. I don't need that visual cemented in your mind too. Also, I might be your baby but that doesn't mean you have to baby me. I'll be okay."

Sean lightly kisses the tip of my nose and then says, "You shouldn't be the only one who has to look at them every day. You're also my fiancée which means you'll soon be my wife. It's my job to look after you."

I sigh and then say, "Alright, you win. Can you please grab my bag?"

He nods and places it on the bed beside me. I pull out my grey sweatpants and Sean's CPD Academy sweatshirt that I've basically adopted as my own. He helps me carefully remove the hospital gown and then I hold onto his shoulder as he helps me put on the sweatpants. Once that's taken care of he grabs the sweatshirt and lowers it over my head. I put my arms through the sleeves and I expect Sean to drop the hem of the shirt but instead he kneels down so his face is parallel to my middle. He gently kisses each of the five bullet wounds and then whispers, "I don't know what I would've done if I had lost you."

I run my fingers through his hair and then lift his chin so our eyes connect. I rub the top of his head and then I say, "You're never going to lose me Sean. I'm not going anywhere."

He smiles and stands. We share in a tender kiss and then he grabs my things and we slowly make our way out to his car.
