-Laynie returns for her first day back at work after having Ella

-They get a call almost immediately; somebody murdered a woman's husband while she was out shopping

-They gear up and arrive on scene; she's very upset

-Antonio begins to collect her statement while Laynie starts investigating the scene

-It can be easily seen that the husband died of a trauma to the head

-Antonio tells Laynie that she was grocery shopping while it happened

-Laynie is beginning to get suspicious about the origins of why and how the murder occurred

-She pulls Voight aside and says that the details seem very similar to Roald Dahl's short story 'Lamb to the Slaughter'

-Voight agrees and instructs her to make friendly conversation with the wife while everyone else keeps investigating

-Laynie greets the wife in the kitchen and grabs a glass of water for her

-Laynie notices the oven is on so she asks the woman what she was roasting; the wife confesses that it's lamb

-Laynie pretends that she's interested in the seasoning on the lamb and asks if she can take a look; the woman agrees

-When she opens the oven Laynie sees that it's a leg of lamb; she confronts the wife about it and she breaks

-Officers come to take her to jail while they help clean up the scene and gather evidence for her trial

-On their way back to the district Laynie jokes that Grade 9 English actually paid off
