Leah felt she had connected with Jungkook, something changed between them. If it wasn't clear before that they were connected, that their futures intertwined, it was now. She could tell the both of them felt like they were ready to take on the world, but reality was different.

He was no longer hiding his pain and it was contorting his face in a disturbing expression. She was gently rubbing his back in circles to sooth him, but she wasn't sure it would be enough, and truthfully she was starting to feel dizzy, like her mind couldn't focus. With her other hand she touched her own forehead. She was hot, not feverish, but hot. Damned withdrawal ups and downs.

"We need to recover as fast as possible if we're going to rescue your friends soon and escape this island." She said it more to encourage herself than Jungkook.

He looked up at her and straightened his back. He nodded, passing his fingers through his short raven hair. "You're right. What should we do to speed it up?"

Leah shrugged and took a step back, "I don't know." She looked around and her eyes fell on the bed with the disheveled sheets. She smiled, "My mom always said that sleep was the best remedy."

As soon as the words were out of her mouth, her vision blurred and she squinted. There was something awfully wrong suddenly, there was this stingy pressure deep in her sternum at the thought of her mother. But she always did say that, didn't she?

A solitary sob escaped her mouth and she reached for her forehead again.

"Are you okay?" She heard Jungkook ask, he was close to her now. His hand fell on her shoulder and she took a deep breath.

"Why does it hurt?" She wondered aloud, rubbing her temple.

"You shouldn't force yourself..." He said in a tranquilizing tone. Usually it was effective, but at that moment it wasn't enough. It hurt.

She turned to him and seeing his concern, she tried smiling. Her memory lapses couldn't cripple her like that, nor make life stop in its tracks. She would remember eventually, or wouldn't, but she had to keep going. So she brushed it off, though her hand came down from her head to her chest in a self-comforting gesture.

"Yeah. Well, we should speed this up," she tried putting some strength in her voice. "Daniel said we could ask for medicine. Let's go and do that quickly."

She immediately turned towards the door and Jungkook was so surprised, his hand was still hanging in the air where her shoulder was before. He ran after her.

"So what are we asking for? Is there anything that can make us heal faster?" He was quickly by her side.

"No, not really." She clenched her jaw before she could mutter the words. "For me, it's the same old enemy. I need fluids and antipyretics. You need painkillers and anti-inflammatory medicine."

He raised his brow, not certain to have understood half the things she said, but he kept quiet. They reached the clinic and Ella wasn't surprised to see them. Leah repeated the exact same words to her, who immediately turned to the cabinets, getting what they needed.

"How's Namjoon?" Jungkook asked, seeing her open the fridge. He had noticed his room door was closed. She suddenly turned to them.

"Do you prefer pills or an IV?" She was addressing him and he glanced at Leah, then shrugged.

"Whatever is faster."

Ella prepared the IVs and catheters. "He's napping again, which is totally fine." She seemed distracted as she decided to pull out a bandage roll. She turned to them. "IV is faster. Usually time is important in recovery, but I can understand why you'd want to hurry things along."
