She woke up hours later with the smell of something delicious. She got up, rubbing her eyes and quickly forgetting what she was dreaming about.
Jungkook was cooking with full concentration while Namjoon observed, trying to help here and there. It was he that noticed Leah walking up to them.
"Hi, how are you feeling?" He smiled. Jungkook turned around and saw her, but got back to finishing the meal.
"Tired, but better." She peeked over Jungkook's shoulder by getting on her tiptoes. It looked yummy. She looked at them more closely. "Why is your hair wet?"
"Cause it's raining outside."
Leah nodded and moved away. "We really have to stop eating on the floor."
She reached the desk and dragged it to the center of the room. They had only two chairs, so only two places at the table, but it was better than the floor, at least for Namjoon.
When the plates were set, Namjoon picked up one with his good side and Leah picked up the other two. She placed one down on the table and sat on the floor with her back against the mattress.
"Go to the table, Leah."
She looked up at him and smiled, "I'm already on the floor, Jungkook."
He wasn't pleased, but he didn't want to make a fuss; he sat down.
"So, what did Daniel say?" Namjoon asked after thanking him for the food, tasting it, and saying it was delicious.
"I showed him my map and we discussed what we saw at the cliff. He knew of the clearings, sometimes pirates camp there and burn the place, other times there are houses. He was worried about the smoke," he told them while the others ate. "And the dock with boats. He says that's why they can't fish anymore, the cartel goes from that point to another dock further southeast. He wants to deal with it and asked if we would help, he doesn't have enough manpower."
"And what did you say?" Leah asked.
"No, of course. He was disappointed and tried to convince me for a minute, but he understood."
Namjoon took a deep breath, he didn't seem too happy. Both of them quieted down, waiting for him to speak.
"Was that wise?"
"They'd ask us to shoot people, hyung," he pointed out.
"We're in a war zone, of course they would."
Leah frowned but kept quiet while watching the two-man discussion unfold.
"So? What is that supposed to mean? That we should?"
Namjoon sighed exasperatedly. He was tapping his foot on the ground persistently and it was getting on everyone's nerves.
"No, we shouldn't shoot people. But when people shoot at you, you shoot back." Jungkook dropped his cutlery, upset at Namjoon's words. "We should be getting ready, we shouldn't just stay here in our protected little—"
"Are you kidding me?" Jungkook's voice was cold as he snapped. "I should be the one saying that, me!" He pointed at himself and Namjoon avoided his eyes. The youngest kept staring at Namjoon until he faced him again, then he continued. "I told you I wanted to train, you said no, I told you I wanted to do something, you told me not to do anything rash, and now you're acting like I've been sitting on my ass not doing anything!"
He threw his napkin on the table and got up. Leah stayed quiet as Jungkook got his backpack, the same as Namjoon, who didn't seem inclined to answer him. Jungkook just left after a moment without another word.
