Jungkook woke up with a start, raising his head to see who had just touched him.

Hoseok smiled apologetically, "Oh, sorry, Jungkookie."

Jungkook groaned and rubbed his eyes; the sun coming through the window instantly bothered him. He had fallen asleep sitting on the floor of Jin's clinic room, hugging his knees to his chest, and although he appreciated Hobi's attempt to put a pillow behind him, that wouldn't be enough to make him comfortable. He could feel his stiff muscles and headache begging him for rest, yet he caught Jin putting a blanket that had fallen back over Leah. Guilt instantly hit him; she was sleeping on the floor with her backpack as a pillow, snoozing so quietly, he couldn't stop himself from sliding next to her.

Jin looked at him and Jungkook nodded, slowly moving her with his help so she'd place her head on his lap instead. Then he petted her hair, revealing her not so relaxed expression. He sighed; even when she was quiet, it didn't mean her sleep was uneventful. She deserved to be resting in a comfortable bed after last night's insanity, but here she was, and it was his fault.

He didn't want to wait at home while Ella operated on Jimin. Leah instantly decided to wait there with him, and despite his tries, when she noticed he was injured too, she was even more insistent on staying. It was just a bullet graze on his left shoulder, but she had taken care of it herself. Hoseok had light sleep, and once he learned of the news, he couldn't sleep anymore. Jin didn't wake up, so Hoseok only told him why those two were sleeping on the floor of his room a minute ago. His big, glistening eyes were enough to represent all their worries combined, and Jungkook just sighed. He had had enough of staying at the clinic, worrying like crazy every time something happened. He glanced at Leah; even she wasn't out of the woods yet, not completely. It was laughable to worry about a scratch on his shoulder when she was still taking medication for her lungs.

Hoseok sat back on his chair and heaved a long breath. That silence between the three of them, with Jin back on his bed, and Jungkook on the floor petting Leah's hair, wasn't as comforting as he wished. "We might as well have breakfast if we're awake."

He got up, but the door opening caused him to stagger. Ella didn't have her scrubs on, but despite her normal clothes, she looked exhausted. She looked a second away from falling asleep standing, with her paleness and sunken eyes, and despite her light smile, the three men became hyper aware.

Jungkook would have jumped to his feet, but he couldn't with Leah's head on his lap. Still, she sensed the commotion around her and woke up. He waited for her to get her head up on her own, but he couldn't help asking, "And?"

"You know, I feel like I have a constant turn over with your friends: as soon as one is almost ready to be sent home, you bring me another one."

She was joking, laughing quietly to herself while Leah and Jungkook got on their feet and the other two waited patiently. At least Jungkook thought it was a joke, though to him, it felt like a bitter one. She could only mean he kept letting them get hurt.

"How was it?" Leah asked, still rubbing her eyes to wake up properly.

"It went well, he's sleeping the anesthesia off. It took so fucking long, gosh," she groaned, pressing her eyes for a second.

"Was it widespread? Could you get them all out?"

The men looked at Leah like she had grown two heads, but Ella nodded, "He was lucky, considering. Because it was at medium range, the spread of the birdshot pellets was not too wide. I was able to remove them and the shell, which is good, since it didn't have the time to fully break apart."

"Did it reach the bone?"

"No, none of that. I sutured his main wound, it only damaged his muscle."

"What does that mean?" Jungkook asked, his heart still hanging on by a thread.
