Leah had a knot in her stomach. Her heart was heavy but she had no more tears left to cry for the moment. The moon was high in the sky, yet she was still lingering around Amanaki's town square. Aaden was a bit further ahead speaking with the man in charge while she stared at what she presumed was Namjoon's body in front of Jungkook. Nothing made sense anymore.

She saw him suddenly lean forward and kiss Namjoon before getting up and leaving. She didn't think much of it, maybe he was just going to the bathroom. Either way, that meant she could have a minute with Namjoon.

She kneeled next to him and placed her hand on his shoulder over the white sheet. She felt such a tight grip around her chest she couldn't breathe. She was so sorry. There was nothing else she could feel. They weren't the best friends forever like he and Jungkook were, but she cared deeply for him nonetheless. And it was so unfair, so revolting how his life was just stolen away. She felt angry but also incredibly sad that there was nothing she could do. It was helpless. She thought of Jungkook and her stomach turned. Utterly helpless.

Speaking of, she looked around and got up. She didn't want to upset Jungkook by being where he was or taking up all the space near Namjoon — he didn't want her near, after all. She was moving away back to where she was before when she noticed he was nowhere to be found. It had been well over fifteen minutes, where could he have gone?

She neared Aaden and the man, who turned to her quickly.

"Have you given a room to Jungkook?" She asked.

Aaden frowned, "Not yet. Do you want to stay with him?"

"No, it's not that."

"Good. You're staying with me, then."

Her brow furrowed for a second before she shook her head.

"Have you seen him, though?"

Aaden looked around, the same as her and the man.

"I guess not."

She nodded, ready to turn away but Aaden grabbed her arm.

"Where are you going?" He saw her anxiety, she didn't need to answer. "He's a warrior, he can handle himself."

"I'm worried, let me go."

He sighed. "I told you it's not safe for you to be alone right now."

"Then, by all means, help me look for him."

Aaden considered it for a moment before letting her go. He turned to the man, who raised his hands.

"It's okay, I'm going to see what's up with the accommodations. It's getting late."

She quickly turned to look around for Jungkook, followed closely by Aaden. She checked the hall where they had all been assembled, the bathrooms, and the clinic where Ella was, and she hadn't seen him.

They were walking back to the square when she had a wild idea. With every step they took, she tried dismissing it, but it kept gaining strength. Jungkook was nowhere to be found and—

"I'll do an extra lap, meet you at the town square."

She ran off, knowing Aaden would want to come along. She just wanted to confirm that her idea was too crazy and stupid, he obviously wouldn't have done it.

And yet the truck in which they arrived in Amanaki was gone. His words didn't have to echo in her spirit for her to be immediately certain. Shit.

She ran back to Aaden as quickly as she could, going past people without really seeing them. Worry was consuming her every thought, she didn't know what to do.
