Jungkook woke up with a quiet groan, rolling in bed until his arm found what he was searching for. Leah was sleeping with her back turned, curled into a ball, and he molded to her, kissing her shoulder in between her hair. He palmed her naked body gently, not wanting to wake her, and she sighed in her sleep. He didn't mind waking up if it was like that, immersed in the reminiscent afterglow of their love.

He got up, however, and got to the bathroom with a couple thoughts on his mind. First, he wanted to get Hobi and bring him home, and second, Aaden had mentioned this place and he couldn't stop thinking about taking Leah there. He really wanted to spend some time with her, away from all the crazy, so if they had a moment, it was worth making the detour.

He was smiling at the thought before he closed his eyes and splashed water on his face. When he straightened up, he was almost startled by the pair of hands cupping his cheeks gently. His eyes shot open, discomfort from the droplets of water running down his face all forgotten, and he instantly relaxed. A sleepy and puffy Leah was smiling at him.

She raised her hands and brushed his longer hair away from his eyes, "There you are."

Jungkook blinked and reality dawned on him. Jin's whimper mixed with the engine roaring and Jungkook glanced at him, reaching beside him in the shotgun seat to squeeze his hand, "We'll be there soon. Okay? Just a little longer."

His hand was sweaty and he didn't need to look twice to know his hyung was burning up. He gripped the steering wheel; he was going as fast as he could.

He still couldn't believe this was happening. No, he couldn't — it was an endless loop inside his head. Tears roamed in his eyes as he forced himself to focus. He had to get Jin to Ella first before he became severely ill.

That was all he could do and he was convinced they were going to make it, but it didn't ease his anxiety. He pressed and bit on his lips with the anxiety fits shaking him, trying to throw him off when he needed to focus. How could this be happening?

He could still hear the car alarm ringing in his ears as he pushed Jin to run away. One moment, it only took one moment to glance at Leah and trust that she would follow them and cover for them.

"Go!! I'm right behind you, go!"

And he didn't look back. Fuck! He hit the steering wheel, biting on a finger to calm his anxiety. Why didn't he look back? He was focused on Jin, he tripped a lot and slowed down, and if they were going to make it, Jungkook had to help him. He could have sworn she was right behind them, he knew she was in the couple of times he had glanced back. Until she wasn't.

He had stopped in his tracks alongside Jin and noticed for the first time that the jungle was quiet aside from the occasional echo from far away. And that was when it clicked for him.

"Leah?" He had called through the radio but only silence answered back. By then, he was already running back, no longer supporting Jin with a hand on his waist. He just kept running, trying not to let the fear and anxiety paralyze him.

He knew what they wanted. Those fuckers could kill them or take them, anything could happen, but not with Leah. It could be that they had shot her, but he never noticed any gunfire. No, only the quiet of the jungle, with the birds and trees rustling. He could feel it in the tension in his gut — she was taken.

And I told you: you can't have everything.

He gritted his teeth and ran harder; he refused to give that fucker Noah any credit. Jungkook could have everything, and he would. He would have everything because those were the people he loved, his whole world—

He came out of the jungle line and staggered. There was a body up ahead on the floor and dust still settling on the road. He walked up the road a bit carelessly only to see the dust floating in the air following the path the car took. He glanced at the guy on the side of the road — gunshot to the chest, red bandana in a knot around his neck like cartel members tended to have. There was no other trace, no other signs of struggle or fight but that was where the car had stopped and restarted down the road.
