Jungkook arrived at the clinic and said hi to Ella before going to Namjoon's room and closing the door behind him with a quick greeting. Namjoon was reading a book and was happy to see him. He tried starting a conversation, but Jungkook was not playing along. He was sitting down on a chair with his right hand covering his mouth; he seemed absent, giving short answers and losing focus on the topic they were discussing frequently.

"What's on your mind?" Namjoon finally asked, knowing he'd go nowhere with the youngest unless he got whatever it was out of his mind.

Jungkook shook his head, downplaying it. He gave in after three seconds with a sigh, "I don't really know."

Namjoon frowned a bit, "Maybe try and tell me?"

Jungkook rubbed his face, trying to find the words to say. His mind was a mess and he didn't know where to begin. "I really don't know. I find myself looking at her to see if she's okay, worrying about her. Doubting if I should do one thing or the other, and it feels off." Namjoon raised an eyebrow, but let him finish. "I'm not usually like that. Am I?"

"You're a kind and considerate person, Jungkook," he pointed out. He could only assume he was referring to Leah, although it wasn't clear.

"I know, but..." he tried not to get frustrated with trying to explain the inexplicable. "What you said last time, about knowing each other." Namjoon nodded. "It made sense. We know each other without really knowing. So when we started talking about what we like to eat, or our favorite color, that made sense. We talked and we decided we are going to do this together."

Jungkook stopped to breathe once he said it. He didn't feel guilty or anything, not towards Namjoon. He was going to protect her so he'd never have to feel guilty towards her either.

Namjoon nodded again, "That's great news, if you're comfortable with that, then it's great that she's on our side." The youngest agreed, but still looked unsettled. "Do you trust her?"

"Yes", his answer was honest and Namjoon waited. "That's not the problem."

"Then what is the problem?"

"I don't know!" Jungkook got up and started pacing the room and Namjoon shuffled on his buttcheeks, annoyed he couldn't move too.

"I don't see the issue. You seem to trust her and you two get along. It's only natural you care about her—"

"No, I don't think it is," he interrupted, not able to stop ambulating the room. "I care about her." He didn't dare stop to look at his hyung. "I didn't want to let go of her hand. Just now I was looking at her. Do you understand? She was... and I couldn't stop looking at her. I don't know how to explain," he finished, sitting back down with his hands over his legs.

Namjoon was both freaked out and about to burst out laughing — Jungkook was acting like a pre-teen with a crush. It would be hilarious, if he didn't actually look spooked about it. He didn't really seem to be aware of it yet and Namjoon debated if it was the kind of thing you should be informed about by someone else. He didn't want to stress Jungkook out further.

"So let me see if I got this straight," Namjoon started patiently. "You have met someone under very stressful conditions, you've worked as a team to save me, and yourselves, and you've grown closer together. You trust her, she says she'll help you, and you've grown to care about her." Jungkook stayed quiet, listening. Namjoon usually had the piece of insight that everyone needed, so he just waited. "Am I correct?"

"Yes, I guess."

"Alright. All of this is entirely normal, predictable really. You should care about her, you're going through a lot together and that helps you get close. The more you work together, the more you'll know her and trust her, I'd be worried if you didn't care about her."
