A week after...
"Are you sure you don't want to come with us? I can have my driver send you home."
I smiled politely as I turned down my classmate's offer.
Almost the whole school had known about the incident that I was entangled with last week and in turn, the security had been heightened around the school perimeter.
Security guards in every entrance and exits had doubled up and parents had made sure they have someone to send and fetch their children to and from school if they could not make it themselves.
My parents being one of them.
But that Friday afternoon, they couldn't make it as they had to go for another out of town for another business dealings.
I had to convinced them that I will be fine when they both decided to cancel their schedule just so they could fetch me from school that afternoon.
Good thing, I was able to persuade them in the end as long as I made sure to be home before five in the afternoon and that I would ask the school guard to get the information of the taxi I would hail and have it sent to them.
Which was what I was about to do when not far from where I was at the school gate, I heard boisterous laughter.
A very familiar one at that.
I nodded at the security guard before I stepped out of the gate and into the side walk to check on the voices and there, just across where I was standing at a street food push cart were the guys from last time.
The still had the same get up as they had the first time I saw them.
Overgrown unruly hair.
The taller guy even had a slight blond highlights showing in his hair.
School polo shirt on top of a tattered denims with an equally tattered chucks.
I bit on my lower lip.
I didn't want to admit but a part of me was waiting to see these guys after the incident.
I had no idea what for but after it happened, I had been looking at the the alley of food stalls nearby if only I could see the both of them but I didn't.
Until now.
I looked at my phone and checked on the time.
I still have about thirty minutes before the curfew that my parents gave me.
If I hail a ride, I would arrive home just on time.
With that thought, I heaved a sigh and clutched on my back pack before I walked to where the pair that I had been waiting to see eating and chattering and joking at each other at the stall.
"Hey, RK!"
The shorter guy beamed at me as I stood opposite them by the boiling wok with all the street food cooking in there.
"What's up? Got your phone snatched again?"
I made an awkward smile at him.
What's up with calling me RK!?!
I wanted to ask him but I didn't want to come off negatively more than I did last time so I just let it go and regarded the lady seller instead.
"Manang, can I get a stick?"
