Kao
I furrowed my brows at the guy sitting with his back on me at the couch as he was flipping through the channels on tv as I sat on my work table trying to finish my shift.
It was already ten in the evening but the guy still didn't leave after a quick early at six when he arrived with that huge bouquet of flower and a box of pizza and a take out of bihon guisado-stir fried noodles--one of my favorites from Tagpuan earlier.
"Hi..."
I heard him whispered as he engulfed me into a one arm hand with his other arm holding the huge bouquet.
"I miss you."
I smiled on his chest when I heard him whispered again.
I didn't say anything but held him tighter in my arms instead.
It's funny how I never knew how much I missed him until then.
We stayed like that for sometime in the middle of my living room.
Just embracing each other in silence.
Drowning the world away for that moment.
Some time after, I looked up to him and smiled before I regarded the flowers in his hand.
"What's up with this garden?"
He chuckled before he handed it to me.
"I never get to congratulate you on the very day of your move because I still didn't feel like letting you go so I didn't give you anything. Now, consider this as my belated congratulations."
I smiled as I took the bouquet as he took my bag from me and deposited it on the couch he helped me choose and offered to pay but didn't let him.
Although almost all of the essentials I have in the place was bought by the money I had while I was working with him.
"Thank you. But you know you didn't have to."
I said as I held his hand and guided him on the couch where we sat.
"I know. But I wanted to. I just realized I haven't given you any flowers back then."
I made a face at him as I smelled and examined the flowers he gave me.
"I didn't want any flowers. Just you is enough."
I saw my boyfriend shook his head at me.
It's true that I'm not a flower kind of guy.
Although I must say, I loved the bouquet he gave me and the rush of happiness it brings me every time I look at it settled on a chair nearby.
"Don't look at me like that, we still need to eat and I know you still have work in an hour."
I chuckled at my boyfriend before I eyed the food that he brought.
There were too many for us two.
"I brought this to celebrate. I wanted to take you out today but I know you're busy so maybe next time. For now, I hope this will do."
He said as he put his take outs on the table in front of us.
"Didn't you pay for dinner last time already?"
He took me out to dinner on my first night in my new apartment before he left home unwillingly as I told him I wanted to be alone on my first few days at my own place.
"This one's different. It's for another celebration."
I made a face at him.
"Today marks your first week in here. Away from me."
