Kao

I waved goodbye to my friends as opened the door to the car my parents personally commissioned to send and fetch me to where I was supposed to go.

It was the weekend and my friends and I agreed to unwind with a movie and a dinner.

It was almost eleven and had already started raining that I declined my friends' invite to go clubbing before going home.

We were already on the road on the way home when the rain started pouring heavily.

I looked outside and hoped that the rain would ease up so we could at least be off there as I know that this part of the city has the worst level of water rising level even with just a small downpour.

Tsk!

The effect of urbanization that is.

I looked back on the road and indeed, it was already starting flooding.

Some motorist even made their way back with how the water was rising rapidly.

Good thing the car was almost on the higher part of the highway.

It was still raining very hard with no indication that it would stop soon.

I replied the text I got from my mother asking me where I was and I told her I was on my way home.

I tucked my phone inside my pocket and looked outside.

The car was on its way to make a turn for the highway when I saw a very familiar figure from a distance, all wet and dripping trying to protect himself from the rain as he hid under a decrepit shed making zero to none help to help him with the rain.

The car window was all wet and foggy but I couldn't be mistaken.

The guy was shaking as he seemed to be flagging down a ride but to no avail.

I learned from experience that this part of the city from the mall I was just at was not usually frequented by public transport as public utility vehicles were on the other end.

Plus the fact that it was raining very hard, I was almost positive the guy had to walk to the highway under the rain if he wanted to get a ride.

But, whatever was he doing there anyway!?!

I shook my head and rolled my eyes.

That's none of my business.

The guy made sure of that when he cursed at me and told me to get lost when all I ever wanted was to say sorry and redeem myself for what I did to him and to say thank you for what he did to me but what did I get?

Some crispy crunchy curses from the guy.

That day, he walked out on me twice and embarrassed me in front of the busy streets.

Although, his friend came up to me to apologize in his behalf and reminded me to not take the arrogant guy seriously, but still, I couldn't help but feel annoyed with what he did and said to me that time.

If he didn't want me, then I don't want him too.

If he didn't want my help and apology, then I don't care!

And right now, as my ride passed by him trying not to shiver under the pouring rain and with the cold, I really didn't care.

He could freeze for all I care the jerk that he is!
