Ripples

In these separated rooms, the white drives me up the walls, everything always blurring together in my vision, the emptiness helps the echo's. Nothing happens when I walk around, the door jammed, or locked, nothing happens when I  touch any of the walls, except one. When I touch the wall opposite from the door blue waves ripple off from my touch.

I sit against the wall and feel a presence on the other side. I see a ripple next to my head and I look over, the colors pink cascading into yellow ripple off the wall. I know who you are.

I know your hurting, I know you have been for a while. Why won't you ever just open up to me? I push off from the wall and sit facing it. I have a melody in my mind, and I trace my fingers and hands on the walls to the beat.

I sit and watch and see no response back, but I can feel you sitting there.

His hands touching the wall makes two blue ripples where my sides are, I don't want him knowing its me on this side, but I know better, he already knows. I can feel him there on the other side.

____

I lay in defeat looking at the wall, my eyes tearing up. I close them and swipe at the tears, rubbing my eyes till they burn. I open my eyes and see small blips of color. I sit up slowly and watch them put their hands on the other side of the wall. I close my eyes...

They lay in my arms as I play with their hair, blue yellow and pink ripples cascading off our bodies on the floor, their eyes closed and a neutral look to them, they look almost peaceful. Almost. " Can you let me sing you a lullaby? And maybe then you'd let me in tonight, in tonight.."
