Hoseok gulped down for one last time before reaching out to ring the door bell slowly. Today is the day he'll perform with Ara together... but no matter how much happy she pretends, her eyes were clearly telling him the truth. This is why Hoseok took this decision. This was absolutely drastic and he shouldn't do this probably....but he had no other ways. He was determined to make this day memorable to her , and for that, this was the only way.
As he rang the bell, the door opened after a minute, revealing a man in his fifties. Hoseok gave a courteous smile at his sight
- ' Mr. Han? '
The man measured him up and down before answering in a deep voice
- ' Yes? '
- ' I'm Jung Hoseok. Team leader of sales department of the Kim Enterprise. '
Mr. Han's eyes opened widely upon hearing his designation
- ' Kim Enterprise? ! '
Hoseok gava a little nod with a smile and handed him his card with his id proofs.
- ' I have something really important to tell you Mr. Han. May I come in? You can trust me.... I have no bad intension. '
The man skimmed his ids for one last time before opening the door for him
- ' But I don't remember any connection with your company Mr. Jung. Please come in. '
Hoseok stepped in the house and noticed it's a simple yet elegant one....just like Ara . Coming to her home to talk with her father was a dangerous decision indeed, but the most dangerous part was that Ara didn't know any of it. By doing this, he put everything at stack .... but he just couldn't see that intense melancholy in his favorite girl's eyes. This is a long....very long shot indeed, but he cannot fail this one.... not under any circumstances.
- ' Of-course you have no connection with our company Sir . I mentioned it just to introduce myself. I'm here for a completely different reason....a rather personal reason. '
Mr. Han raised an eyebrow at this
- ' A....personal reason? I don't believe we know each-other, do we? '
- ' You don't know me Sir...but I'm well aware about you. '
- ' And may I ask how and why? Listen Mr. Jung... I have a little bakery and cake shop and that's the only thing I have in the entire world. I have no such relatives...nor any competitor or enemy. I'm just peacefully living my life by my own. So, how exactly that bothers you Mr. Jung? '
Hoseok shook his head politely
- ' That doesn't bother me at-all. To answer your question, I have to go back to your own words Sir. Correct me if I'm wrong ,but I believe right now you said you have no relatives, didn't you? '
- ' Yes, I did...because that's the truth. '
Hoseok lowered his head and sighed before looking back at the man
- ' Though her every act were absolutely painful and miserable, but you still can't deny the existence of your own daughter, Sir. '
This words dropped in the room like a bomb , and by just a glance at him, anyone could tell Mr. Han's entire world has turned upside down in a moment.
- ' You...you....who are you? You... WHO ARE YOU? ANSWER ME! '
In a second, the distinct gentleman became furious as he shouted out the last part ... but Hoseok was expecting something like this.
- ' I'm Jung Hoseok...and apart from my official designation, I'm a lover...and a friend, both to your daughter, Han Ara. '
The man kept looking at him with open mouth and shocked eyes. His daughter? After almost 3 years of being detached? And who is this boy, claiming to be the love of her life? He's not the one for whom she even left her own father. Then?
- ' I.... I don't believe a single word of yours. She... She's....she's dead to me. I never had any daughter. And you...who are you? You're not anything to anyone. '
Hoseok kept his voice steady and calm
- ' Maybe...your misunderstandings with her makes her dead to you, but she's alive.... alive and with me. '
- ' I DON'T TRUST YOU! YOU'RE NOT THE - '
- 'Yes I'm not the boy she left her home for. I'm not....and that's why I came here. I don't want to just sit and watch her cry every night and smile through the pain every morning. Her one bad decision broke her in so many ways that she chose death for herself. I can't let her die Sir... I love her....and to see her happy again, I can do anything, if that means begging your pardon forever...then so be it. '
The determination and desperation was clear in his voice, and his eyes we're speaking nothing but truth. Mr. Han was taken aback.
_ ' You....I... I don't know you. I've never seen you before. '
- ' Yes Sir, you don't know me. I met Ara a few months ago....on a stormy night. '
Mr. Han went silent after this . Burying his head on his hands, he was lost in deep thoughts. The whole room was completely still, and Hoseok was observing him keenly as his heart was beating furiously inside his chest. He had no idea what turn will this incident take from now on....and what he should do next.
- ' She....how.... '
Mr. Han was whispering in barely audible voice, but Hoseok had sharp ears
- ' She's fine apparently....but she's nothing but a broken mess from inside. After leaving home, she had faced such pathetic situations...'
- ' She sent you here? '
- ' No Sir. She doesn't even know I'm here now. '
- ' Then why you came?! '
- ' Because she's so afraid and ashamed to do that herself. She wants nothing but to come back to her home...to her appa...but her guilt is stronger than her will. She regrets everything... her every decisions. '
Mr. Han finally looked up at Hoseok, and that's when he noticed the shine near his eyes.
- ' What....what has happened to her in this years? You know that? '
Hoseok nodded a yes and started telling everything that Ara has told him....and how he saved her....what happened in this last few months...everything in details. He was here to tell the truth only, and so he did.
When Hoseok stopped, the overflowing tears weren't stopping from Mr. Han's eyes. Yes....she did everything that she shouldn't do to her father. Yes, she misunderstood his concerns...she took a tremendously dangerous decision. But this?! He never ever wanted her to suffer all this at such young age. What if Hoseok couldn't save her that night? Then...his only daughter....the angel he loved....the reason of his life would have been gone from him..forever !? No no no....he never ever wanted any of this. Yes, he was hurt....but she suffered the most . How can a father hold grudge against his own daughter? No...that's not possible for him. He'll not let his little one suffer anymore. She has seen enough. She'll not be alone... not until her father is alive.
Hoseok took a big step all by himself, but will it the bridge that can amend a broken relation between a father and daughter?
Let's find out in the next chapter! 👀
