I threw on one of my dresses while Jimin put away the handcuffs into his brown and leather bag. I smile as I swipe away at the dust, "I should misbehave more often." I look over at Jimin as I grin.
He smiles, grasping my face with his hands and planting a soft kiss, "Yeah, maybe you should."
He breaks the second kiss from the sound of his Laptop ringing. I groan as he walks away with a smirk.
Jimin sits down as he opens his laptop to an upcoming FaceTime, "Hey, Ros, what's up?"
Ros smiles and shakes her head, "I'm- I'm so sorry to interrupt your honeymoon. We had a fire in the main server room this morning."
I stand behind Jimin as I lean my hand on the back of the chair. A fire? Why is she telling him now? I'm sure it would've been taken cared of.
Jimin tilted his head, "Was anyone injured?"
"No. And the damage could have been much worse. The fire suppression system kicked in."
Jimin turned away from Ros as he sighed.
"It looks like Arson. Someone planted an explosive device. This guy..." Ros pulled up a video of someone walking suspiciously down the hallway holding a duffel bag. It was something about his posture, the parts of his face and the way he walked, it almost looks. . .familiar. "Security is sweeping the room for fingerprints and DNA."
Jimin shook his head, "Did he get any data?"
"He took some of your personal files, and then he might have set fire to cover his tracks."
"Uh, can you go back?" I squinted at the video, waiting for Ros to play it back.
Ros rewinded it and paused it as she zoomed in on his face. It wasn't a coincidence. It was him.
"Oh, my God." I leaned closer to Jimin, "That's Jack."
Jimin sat up with tension.
"Who's Jack?" Ros asked.
"Jack Hyde, formerly of S.I.P." His voice grasped at those words as if he wanted to shred them to pieces. Especially the name.
"Uh, he was my boss..."
"Not anymore. He's been dealt with." Jimin turns to me and grabs my hand, "I'm sorry, we need to go home."
Right now?. . .
"Ros, can you tell Andrea I need the Jet in Nice tomorrow, please." Jimin bites his lip as he turns away. Was he disappointed as much as I was?
"Got it. I- I'm sorry, Mrs. Park."
I quickly turn, realizing that she's talking to me. Me, Mrs. Park, "Oh, Don't be."
She smiles and ends the call.
Jimin slams shut the laptop and rubs his face with his hand, narrowing his eyes down at the laptop.
I walk around him and lean against the desk."Why would Jack do that? It's insane."
But was it? For him? Is it really that surprising knowing what he tried to do. He's crazy, and possibly embarrassed and mad. But why would he go after Jimin?
Jimin sighs and looks away. What did he know?
"What?"
"I got a report from the FAA. They don't think that the helicopter crash was an accident. They said it looks like sabotage." Jimin's voice broke. He was keeping this from me.
Jimin could've died. . .murdered.
"Sabotage? Why wouldn't you tell me that?"
Jimin leaned back in his chair as he breathed in, "I didn't want you to worry."
"You think Jack did that, too? Why would he be going to these lengths?"
Jimin sighed once more, "I don't know," reaching out to me as I wrapped my arms around him and sat on his lap. "But don't worry. I swore I'd keep you safe, and I will."
Jimin wants to protect me. And I'm sure he's the last person he's worrying about. His security is sharp but it never stopped Leila from breaking in and now Jack.
If this is just the beginning of Jacks plan, and a short one at that. . .there could be more on the way when we arrive back in Seattle.
Our honeymoon. . .was ending.
