1978

It was a hot December night. The sun and heat were always present on Daxam, even during the winter. It was quiet and dark. No one was in this corner of the planet; there was nothing to do here. No parties, no people, no one and nothing except ruins and abandoned houses. That night, the neighborhood was not empty. The silhouette of a woman with long dark brown hair and a spaceship could be seen on the horizon. With a cape over her clothes and looking worried that someone might see her, she walked quickly towards the ship. Once in front she exchanged a few words with the owner.

- "No one saw you?" Asked the blue-skinned man.

- "No. I was careful not to be seen. No one can find out what I'm about to do." She looked at the baby she was holding in her arms, previously hidden by the cape. "I'm sorry, daughter. I can't keep you. You would ruin everything." She kissed her daughter's forehead before handing her to the man. "Her name is Roxana."

The baby began to cry at the lack of contact with her mother. The mother looked at her daughter so coldly. Her daughter, whom she had loved so much until a few hours ago.

When she found out she was pregnant again, she was over the moon. Her whole family was. Her 25-year-old son even suggested several names for his little sister. Her parents listened and decided to name her Roxana, which means "little star."That's who she was in the eyes of her older brother. When she was born, on October 8th, their father had shed a few tears, his little princess was finally in his arms.

Her brother was so happy, knowing that from this day on, they would have the same birthmark and in the same place; like all generations of brothers and sisters in this family.

In their family, as soon as an only child with a brother or sister was born, a birthmark appeared. It doesn't matter how old they are. It is a mark that will bind them for eternity. Ironically, that generation's birthmark was a star. Roxana and her brother's birthmarks are on their right shoulder blades.

After two months of love, the mother had realized that she might not be her husband's daughter since on December 31st, 1977, she and her husband had an argument and she had decided to spend the New Year on Krypton, which was a terrible idea. She had drunk a lot and met a man just as drunk as she was, they slept together and a few hours later she reconciled in bed with her husband. It was therefore impossible to know which of the two was the father without going through a DNA test. She had taken a hair from her daughter and one from her husband to send to a laboratory on Krypton, because their technology was much more advanced. She would have the results in ten days.

A few hours ago, her greatest fear came true. Roxana was not her husband's daughter. Her daughter, whom she loved so much just a few hours ago, had become her greatest shame. She had to leave her behind and no one had to find out. No one was to find out why she had to abandon her. And certainly not her husband nor her son. She was going to make people believe that she was kidnapped and then killed.

- "We will take good care of Roxana. Do not worry." The blue-skinned man replied simply. It was a lie and she knew it. He watched the mother leave without even turning her back, one last time. He closed the ship's door and handed Roxana to another, taller, blue man. "From now on, her name will no longer be Roxana. It becomes 'Subject 0.8.1.0.7.8'." Malevolent and wicked smiles appeared on the faces of both men.

Roxana's nightmare began now.

For thousands of years, the species that took Roxana, the Kree, had been trying to create the ultimate weapon. A person they could control and be invincible. So, the Kree were kidnapping people of several species: humans, green Martians, white Martians, Kryptonians, Daxamites, Caldarians, titans, Asgardians, etc.
