A month later, the Davenports and Maddie had dinner with Rose and Janice on Claire's death anniversary.
They also celebrated the alien girl's Earth Birthday. Chase baked her mom's cake recipe, like he did last year or on her birthday.
Today, the quintet was in the cafeteria. Bree was waiting to get served in line, while the four other were eating at their table.
- "You double-crossed me for the last time, Flo!" Perry yelled at her lunch lady. "First, I catch you smuggling fish sticks in your pantyhose, and then you think you can walk all over me just because you look debonair in a hairnet?"
Flo smacked mashed potatoes on the bionic girl's plate. She pulled out a long strand of hair.
- "Wow, hm, well, I guess the hair net's just for show. Yew!" She threw the strand on the floor. "Okay, heads up, stay away from Principal Perry." She told the four, before sitting in the free seat between the geniuses.
- "Trust me, that's the first thing I tell myself every morning when I wake up." Leo replied.
- "Really? The first thing I tell myself is: shaving cream only looks like food." Adam said.
The first thing I tell myself is: don't forget to praise Chase. Maddie chuckled to herself.
- "What's the matter, Flo?" The principal popped up next to the lunch lady. "Nervous? You should be! One more mess-up and I will take you out!" She shouted as Flo walked away, annoyed. Perry turned to the short boy, who was looking at her. "What are you looking at?"
- "You keep me asking that question, and I'm still not sure, I can give you an honest answer." The middle brother replied.
- "Mind your own business! If I wanted to be stared all day, I'd still be a catalog model for Burt's Chainsaws." Perry walked away.
The tall guy was making weird faces to someone across the room.
- "Adam, what are you doing? Why do you keep making faces like you're taking a selfie?" The Davenport girl asked.
- "If he's sending me selfies while doing that, I'm burning my phone and throwing bleach in my eyes." The alien girl said.
Chase laughed.
The eldest teenager rolled his eyes, and ignored her.
- "'Cause that girl Sabrina has been checking me out." He explained. The blonde girl, Sabrina, got up and walked toward their table. "Ooh, here she comes." He got up as well.
That's not why she's coming. The Matthews girl looked down at her plate.
