The next Monday, a few days after Bree's fifteenth birthday, in the middle of the night, the five teenagers were in the living room, listening to a car revving outside.

- "He's so annoying." Maddie complained.

- "I know." Leo replied. "Why aren't you in your pajamas?" He frowned.

- "I dressed before coming out of my room." The alien girl lied.

She had not gone to sleep in weeks, to be more precise, since the siblings slept with her after Claire died, her Kryptonian powers allowing her not to be tired due to the lack of sleep.

Now, she refused to go to sleep, because when she closed her eyes, all she could see was the dead body of her mother and of the four people she killed.

When she did fall asleep for a couple of minutes, she always woke up screaming and in tears, because of her nightmares. She was really grateful for the soundproof walls.

Why is she lying? Chase frowned.

- "Why? We all are in our pajamas." Bree said.

- "I just don't like it." The Matthews girl shrugged.

That, however, was true.

- "You forgot your glasses." The Dooley boy noticed.

- "We're home, I don't care if you see me without my glasses." The blue-eyed girl replied.

The bionic girl opened the front door, before slamming it, irritated.

- "Ugh! This new neighbor has got to go!" She yelled.

- "Why does he keep racing his car up and down our street every night?" The genius boy replied.

He looks so good. The genius girl thought.

- "Ooh! I know this one! To get to the other side." Adam chuckled.

Everyone glared at him.

- "It's too early for this." The Davenport girl shook her head.

- "He clearly has no respect for my beauty sleep. It takes at least eight hours to look this good. Ten, if you want that Leo glow." The short boy smiled.

Maddie snickered and turned her head to look at the youngest Davenport, who yawned, causing his best friend to yawn as well.

- "Ha! Chase made you yawn!" The tall guy mocked.

- "Yeah, it's hilarious." The alien girl, sarcastically, replied.

She was looking at me? The green hazel-eyed boy thought.

- "I cannot believe I have to wake up to this!" Donald walked down the stairs, wearing his cheetah print pajamas.

- "No, not again." The Matthews girl sighed.

Chase chuckled and covered her eyes, with both of his hands.

- "Better?" He whispered in her ear, from behind her.

Fuck, yes. Maddie thought.

- "Yeah, thanks." She chuckled.

- "I can't believe I have to wake up to that." Leo looked up and down at his father.

- "This is Italian silk. A cheetah wishes he looked this god." The scientist replied.

- "A cheetah would have the decency to cover that up with a robe." Bree said.

Donald walked over and opened the front door.

- "Hey, Pierce! Get your car off my lawn!" He yelled, before fiddling with his phone. "Let's see how he likes my new high-pressure sprinkler system." He walked out of the house. "Okay, set to 'Monsoon'." The sprinklers turned on and the car stalled. "Ha! He's stuck in the mud!" He mocked.
