A week later, Leo was in the common area when his uncle walked in.
- "Yes, Donnie, I'll take out the garbage." Douglas said on the phone. "No, Donnie, I won't experiment on the kids' bionics while they're asleep again." The nephew looked at him, in shock. "It was one time, and you didn't even notice." He told the Davenport boy, before putting the phone back to his ear. "Gotta go. Yes, I miss you too." He hung up the phone. "Well, Donnie and the students made it to Gettysburg for their first official field trip."
- "Bionic kids and cannonballs. What could possibly go wrong?" Leo, sarcastically, asked.
- "You're a student. Why didn't you go?" The Davenport man asked.
- "Oh, Big D thinks I'm there. When he takes attendance, I paid Aaron 5 bucks to yell 'Here!' and Alison 10 bucks to yell 'Shut it, Leo'." The nephew explained. The girls walked in with books in their hands. "Oh, hey, girls." He walked up to them. "I ditched the field trip, so I could hang out with you guys. What should we do on our day off?"
- "Our day off? No, this is my day off, and I already got it all planned out. I'm going to sit by the pool and read a book. I'd ask you to join me, but I live and work with my family, so I'm sick of all of you." Bree explained. "Except M, she's the exception."
Maddie smiled.
- "Sorry, Leo, but I have so many books to read." She said.
- "Why don't you use your super speed?" Leo asked.
- "Where's the pleasure in that?" The alien girl frowned.
Chase walked in.
- "Hey Chase, wanna hang out?" The middle brother questioned.
- "Sorry, Leo, gotta make the most of my day off." Chase replied. "I already organized the weapons vault, alkalized the island's water system and taught a cute little group of dolphins to wave hello!" He waved as he smiled widely.
The Matthews girl chuckled. Adorable.
- "Next up, some light reading. Oooh." The genius boy grabbed his sister's book and speed read through it. "She ended up marrying the vampire? I did not see that coming!" He exclaimed.
The bionic girl frowned and took her book back.
The green hazel-eyed boy moved to take one of the books of the girl he loved.
- "You can read my books, but if you spoil me anything, I will hurt you." Maddie warned.
Chase chuckled and speed read the book, his eyes widening. Of course, it's dirty. And hot, wow. He flexed his thighs, before giving her the book back.
- "You're gonna love it." He whispered in her ear.
- "Really?" The alien girl raised her eyebrows.
- "Yes." The genius boy nodded.
Adam walked in with a rock.
- "Oh, hey, Adam." Leo said.
- "No." The tall guy moved around him.
- "I didn't even ask you anything yet." The middle brother frowned.
- "Oh, I'm sorry. Go ahead." The eldest replied.
- "Thank you. Would you like to han..." Leo started.
- "No." Adam turned around. "Guys, check out this rock I found on shore. I had to dig it out from under a wooden box of old yellow coins and jewelry."
The Matthews girl shook her head, in despair.
The green hazel-eyed boy looked closely.
- "Adam, this isn't a rock." He said. "It's a fossil. Let me see that." He tried to take the rock.
